Ah, Alouette... good for you.

I broke my game, lol...

...well, since loading City Living my mouse hasn't worked properly. I bought a new one. Repaired the game. Nope.

Moved everything and created a new game. Nope.

Uninstalled and reinstalling now... we'll see, LOL

LOL!!! Alouette.... I will have to go to Sims Anonymous too! I will meet you there. I have a hard drive only for my downloads for the game, 18.4 GB in size. But I do not have it all installed in the game. I am downloading everything I like, but I only install when I need something new in the game. I sometimes spend hours just to go through my download folder to find something I know I have but cannot remember where I got it or where I have saved it to.
Just terrible hey!! giggle

I'm grateful for the customer service people at EA... they have escalated my case and hopefully I will hear from them tomorrow about my mouse issues (in the Sims 4 you can use the Sims 3 camera controls for pitch... the middle mouse wheel). Mine is not working for me, even though my mouse works for my son on his system with a fully loaded game (City Life, too).

Sigh... I've no cc in my current game and it is truly a sad state of affairs!

I will join you both at Sims Anonymous! LOL

Yep, that's it for me. I'd better check myself into SA. First thing I did this morning was download some cc.  Drama

Szanne: How terrible that you now have difficulties with the game.
It makes me realise that I am quite fortunate..... I am not experiencing any difficulties after I installed City Living!
I do hope they get it sorted out for you very soon!!!

I'm sure they will, Anita... it is something with me and my system, I think, though. Because there doesn't seem to be anyone else with this issue :D

Oh, well... I am getting my cc in order... The game will load, I just cannot use the mouse wheel. That issue makes it really difficult to build for me... my left hand doesn't work very well and having to hold the CTRL key to change the pitch angle is just not very precise... :(

So... now I get to see if my game will open at all (with all the cc)... I'll let you know. omg

I'm curious how long it'll take for your game to load now, Suzanne!  whistle

Hi Alouette - it takes 1 1/2 to 2 hours to load with all the cc.

I found the culprit pieces that were causing issues by testing everything - would you believe a couple of walls and some clothing items? Weird...    dontgetit

Now, I've added it all into my Mods folder and as soon as the copy of it is finished backing up, I will load the game. I will either stay up tonight and work on the house or sleep and work at it in the morning. Yeah!    :Spring2     runcircle     ROFL

Here is a picture, lol

omg I just can't imagine waiting that long for my game to load. The things I could get done in the amount of time! You've got some mighty patience. No wonder you're a night owl. giggle

I see you cruise around the board like I do. I usually have at least 3-5 tabs open of various threads at one time.  :Spring3

I'm not quite as bad as my youngest son, Ben (who generally has 50ish tabs open at once!), but I have lots and lots of them open!!!

---that last build didn't work, so I spent all of yesterday deciding which creator folders to keep (it is really, really hard!)...

I still need to figure out a way to see my cc, then I can decide what I want in a particular build... sigh... the problem comes in when what I want is a recolor and I have to have the original mesh and that person is no longer out there :(

It is why I have so much cc... a lot of creators just up and disappeared and if you don't have the mesh, you can't use the recolor! (sometimes, the recolors are super awesome and that is the one I want!!!).

Sigh... I'll figure it out (I wonder if I can use S4S to view cc? As in, open -one at a time- different game builds with different creator folders and then see what a piece of cc actualy is...). I just don't have the patience for that right now... but I'll need to take a couple of weeks and do that one of these days, LOL

What kind of set up do you use to run your game? Laptop or desk top?

I have a laptop.

With a really fast cpu, lots and lots of RAM and hard drive space, and a super awesome graphics card... my brother helped me pick it out. He knew what I was looking for :D

Szanne: I think you will be able to view the cc in S4S. Place a copy of the file in the Sims4Studio mods folder. Then when you go into Studio, just choose recolour and scroll right down..... click on the item and it will open in the viewer window.

Or you can go into my project folder and go to the mods folder in sims4, navigate to the cc you want to see and it will open in sims4studio.

Thank you, Anita - I thought there might be an easy way to view cc...

...I just can't stand the thought of deleting any because so many creators are just disappearing...

I found the grocery items part 1 and 2 by serialsimmer today (by total chance), and while I had seen and downloaded the bath and body shop items, I had never, ever seen the grocery items. Her Tumblr is deactivated, but... BUT, the links to the files are still active on the reblogs people made of the initial post offerings so I was able to get them!

Sometimes, I can use the Way Back Machine to find caches of deactived or closed site's pages and the links are sometimes still available... but sometimes I just cry at the loss to the simming community of these fabulous creators and their cc... :(

I think I am going through a withdrawal or something. I go in game, skip from neighborhood to neighborhood, but don't enter any lots. I haven't even really downloaded anything or been on any sites beyond this one. Maybe I've gotten a case of lost mojo like Anneke and Lorry. It certainly feels like it.  Drama

alouette
I understand what you meant to have lost your mojo
I was still also in no mojo
and that, when I was going to make the old house contest
but once I had decided who went to live there
and was busy building,,
slowly it came back
the downside is
it has not become what I really wanted
but I was glad it was off,
and I was pleased with the end resold
so that will work well with you as you now have no mojo
please do not give up!!
and start at your home, if you have the time  lovesnoop

Oh no Alouette I know exactly how you are feeling consol1
It's not a bad thing to just take a break. I feel more refreshed now and thankfully inspired. I think we are like writers........and suffer writers block or more appropriately, Simmers block swear

Lorry:That is true.... I have many spells like that.... then I do not even try to create anything. But I do play..... and that brings back my mojo. I really an not go for long without doing something regarding the sims! (I am absolutely addicted!!)

Szanne: Do you have a pic of the grocery items? I do not even know the creator?

I don't often get like this Anita, although the last lack of inspiration lasted a while. At one point I did wonder if that was it for me and my Simming.
But I had a certain person on my back encouraging and supporting me the whole time.........SAM

I felt really encouraged when I saw she had posted pictures of her beautiful house in the latest competition. I know that took a lot for her to do that.
LOL after that I went straight into my game claphands1

I feel like what I want to create or build something, but when I open the game nothing will come out.

I'm very glad to see you've got your creative juices flowing again, Lorry!

Here are some of the images from serialsimmer's grocery items for you, Anita:

I was a terrible downloadaholic when I previously played lol but I stupidly deleted everything! I learned if you think you arent going to play anymore do not delete your cc because alot of it is gone now and impossible to find. I think at the time I deleted it all I had around 200GB for Sims 1 - 3

Right now I have around 120GB of stuff on a 500GB external. That is what I have found over 2 weeks of searching and it covers all 4 games (Sims 1 - 4)

I have made the mistake of deleting a set that I thought......nah I'll never use that.....BIG MISTAKE shame
