Rosie - The reason you don't see much build type CC recolored besides doors and windows, is because the majority of creators use Sims4Studio which does not have support for those build mode items, therefore creators can't get to the objects to recolor.

They would have to use SimPE4 which from what I've heard is a nightmare, or maybe TSRW works with that, but I also heard that is wonky and does not always work the way it should.

I too wish we had a more, more, more stair recolors! I actually went back to TS3 and started replaying that because I was so sick of the limitations set by TS4, and have to have this mod and that mod to remotely fake what used to be included in previous versions of The Sims.

These posts are great, and extremely true.  I have had the very same conversations with my husband .  My husband also comments on how much time I spend fixing my game instead of playing it.  He is so patient.

I have to go look for new CC every time I play. I definitely spend way more time searching for CC than I do playing giggle I feel like there's just not as much being made as there used to be. Or maybe I'm just pickier than i used to be

I have to say I am both.  My problem is the custom content has to meet my high quality standards or it gets deleted, I like Realism in my games, even when I have a vampire!

I did just spend roughly 6 hours last night listening to music and downloading custom content :) so I may have a problem...

LOL, mcarchus, seems like you had a lor of fun!
After such a dl spree, do you install everything thereafter, or are like me, just happy to have them and then only use them when you have the need?

It depends.  The downloading spree from last night, while I was writing all my posts :) is sitting in a separate Sims 4 Folder called 'New' which I let sit until I feel like its big enough to do my merging, which is usually after I play a bit and find items to delete, so I kill two birds with one stone.

I have all of my Sims 1 and Sims 2 cc saved to discs. I may have at least 50+.  I will do the same with my Sims 4. I didnt download alot of Sims 3 since my computer didnt run it well. When I had to start over with Sims 4 I just moved my mods folder to the desktop and started with new downloads. When I need something I can always get it and don't have to worry so much about sites closing.

I only discovered cc when I was playing the sims 2, but I also still have all my downloads on an external harddrive.
One never knows if one may need it....

Also never downloaded a lot for sims 3, since I did not play it for very long, though I have all the ep's etc.

Same for sims4, I save all my downloads on an external harddrive.
