I'm posting here anyway, since I don't think most people know that I really am Croi, in meatspace as well as cyberspace. It's been my nickname for more years than some of you have been alive, and the only people who regularly call me by my given name are family (and I wish they wouldn't, since I quite dislike it). Croiduire, or Croi Duire, is slightly butchered Gaelic, croi, meaning heart, and duire, from an old family name Anglicised to Dore, meaning oak grove, so heart within the grove; I started using it as an SCA (link) name back in the early '80s.

Anyway, I've noticed quite a few people using "real names" once they know a person; I just wanted to clarify that my user name is actually as real as it gets.

Wow! Good to know Croi! And what a precious history to that!
You are correct that so many of us use our real names.

Years ago when I got my internet connection.....mainly for my kids school tasks, since it was way before the sims years..... I did not know or foresee that I will be more and more active.

So I then ended up with the username Anidup representing my name as follows:
Anita du Preez.

Nowadays I am glad, because with so many places to visit I would never be able to remember my username if I had to use too many different ones.

Wonder how many of our other active members are doing the same?

I've noticed quite a few of the same names site to site. I love it--it's like walking into an unfamiliar room and seeing at least ONE person you know.

And I've always been curious where anidup came from; it makes perfect sense now! Thank you.

I love your name croi! My username was my nickname when I was little, and my Dad still calls me Till! Sometimes I'm Tilly tiger, and that just popped into my head!

Thank you Crissi for my lovely Siggi!

Tilly Tiger is adorable, and so much a pet name a loving parent would give a child. I see why you like it.

And welcome back at'cha, Oldbox. It's never too late to say "hi!".
