How do you go about building houses and / or decorate the room

1. furnish you in a style you have at home or you want it or you feel it at the time?

2. Where do you find ideas, decorating magazine, decorating books, the internet?

3. Where do you find your floor plans? or based just up some walls and assume that?

(If the translation is weird so I blame on the Google translation)

1. I build most of the style I would like to have but my husband like the more rustic style so that is what we have, I also like "clean" wood.

2. I find highly enough pictures on the internet and in those books I have on the interior.

3. I'm looking layouts on the internet, I usually visit sites where there are houses for sale sometimes I use Google.

this is very nice that you ask everyone! Tahoe

I want it also answers how I build Gimme

I'm a weird sometimes ... I see such beautiful greatie other simmers
I often have the idea,, hey.... that's fun to do it that way,,
then I start,, but I always ward off the plan
and go on my own to further build
I always build on the idea,, but with my own styling I think
with the beautiful things of the great designers slowdance

thanks for your lovely siggie Crissi  hugsmilie

2. Where do you find ideas, decorating magazine, decorating books, the internet? None of this options except on contests/challenges because most of the time the themes are out from my confort zone.I glanced at Google Pictures lol

3. Where do you find your floor plans? or based just up some walls and assume that? And as you , I also do interior makeovers for sims 2.

Great that you asked Tahoe:

1. I try to furnish in a style similar to where I got my inspiration from, since I like quite a variety of
styles. But I do wander off as I progress.

2. I have quite a lot of books and magazines to use for my inspiration. But I google quite often as
well.

3. I build per room.... if that makes sense at all. I like the layout of a room I saw, and start with
that, and build from there outwards. Fortunately for the sims living in my houses, the Building
Inspector is not very strict.

I find it difficult to build off a plan, I like to have a feel for the interiors, and I don't get that
off a plan. I have tried, but not very successful.

It's nice that you want to share with us your ideas, someone else gets a little tip.
I do not think I built a house on the "free-hand" has always been looking for floor plans and changed on them so they'll fit my needs.

The way I decorate my houses depends on the characters that are going to move into the house. I never make a house without making the Sims first. I make the floor plans first and then spend about an hour going through outside wall patterns.. It's really frustrating...

Hi again Akutaki: I do the same as you.

Having the family to base the house on, gives me direction on what I want to do with the insides of the house.
I struggle a lot with the outsides as well.

I'm usually inspired by something. It might be a beach, or a place or someone.
I then look on google or pinterest for pictures of houses.
I build a new lot by putting up some outside walls. It changes a lot as I change my mind and delete some and rebuild. Once I'm happy i decorate the outside. The house then has a personality or style and I find things to fit the style, such as windows and decor. After that, i landscape to fit in with the house character. The last thing i do is build interior walls and decorate.
I have no floor plans or pictures to follow. Its just in my mind, lol. :girlie5:

Tilly: you are fortunate to be able to do that. I need lots of visual stimulation for the outsides of my houses.

Marie: I did not know you lost your entire neighbourhood. It is sooo bad when that happens, I have had the same fate. But, I started over by finding myself a promising new family and built the 'hood up from there.

And then I always make backups of my games (the saved files).
I hope to have you ready to play again soon!

I generally build in a modern style, my inspiration for a build may come from a picture I have found on the internet or some idea in my head.

Decorating is not really what I like to do. It will generally be a mix of old, new, modern or whatever I think looks fine. To others my rooms would probably look quite strange.

I am pleased that so many have wanted to answer because I have always wondered where people get their ideas from.
