I'm thinking of getting Sims 3.....
As i don't actually play with sims (almost never) so I was wondering, as a Lot builder (and i probably wont recolor as it looks mighty complicated dontgetit ) what i should buy, particularly the EPs.

The same question goes to the Sims 4 players....
What EPs should I get, purely for Lot building and decorating.

I love building in Sims 3 and I think with your knowledge you will pick it up quite quickly. Plus you can recolour items yourself (that's what I miss most in Sims 4) It's so easy to do, plus we are here to help you as much as we can.

What to buy......this is hard

Island Paradise which is an expansion pack, but it offers things that could enhance your building such as a tropical house by the ocean.

Seasons for the different aspects of the weather such as snow, autumn and summer. This is an expansion pack.

Supernatural I thought this expansion pack came with some really good furniture.

Town Life, Outdoor Living which are both stuff packs

Phew that was difficult because I wouldn't leave anything out! :lilflowers:

EP: Get together for the Windenburg world.
GP: Wellness, because I like the modern bathroom furniture and it has in my opinion the most useful stuff of all GPs/APs
AP: Romantic Garden Stuff and Movie Hangouts. I like the BoHo Furniture.

I must agree with Avalanche, if it is building you are after, you will be disappointing with what the sims 4 can offer you currently.
We can not build with the cheat constrainfloorelevation, so all the lots are completely flat. You can have a split-level house, but even that is not the same.
I have never built in the sims 3, but from the houses for the game that I have seen, you can actually do quite a lot.
And the recoloring goes very easy, you only need to have a few very good patterns, and you ill be abl to transform a simple piece into a masterpiece!
I have both currently, and am quite content with the sims 4.

You're right Anita! The missing terrain tool and the indoor foundation were a huge step back! But I don't need as many cheats as before to place furniture, to resize or shift stuff up and down the wall.
Recolouring might be easy, but in my experience you have to be much more precise compared to Sims 2.

World Adventures is a great EP which enables you to travel to France, China or Egypt.

Unless you play the game, I'm not sure this is an EP you want in your top 10 for building.......I love it though!  Although, if there's a cheat (and I'm sure there is) you could build a home in any one of these 3 countries.
