OMG! Suzanne it's truly amazing! You've done it again! Completely captured the whole feel, although I've only ever seen parts of the movie here and there, but I got the whole heeby jeebies and shutters just seeing this and imagining all the bugs and germs! LOL And, I too love the rat! What an appropriate and fitting touch!

Yes!!!

Thank you, TJ <3

I hadn't seen the movie, so watching it turned out to be a big surprise - not at all what I thought it might be, heheheheh.

Okay! Wow!!!

Last regular round of DOTY 2017 - For Round 8 (can you believe 8 weeks of rounds?) we were tasked with building the Hogwarts Great Hall from the Harry Potter series :D

In the DOTY thread here on CBS, I posted a couple of pictures showing the requirements for the build and the floor plan, should anyone want to see (that post may be found on page 6 about half way down on this thread, Click Here) - remember, simple does not mean easy! lol :D

So... first, my presentation images. I will follow these with others...

...and, by now you all know me (or, you will soon find out, heheheheh, I created a fully landscaped exterior to get all the way into the build --- and just in case their might possibly be a view from any of the windows, LOL!!!

So, with no further ado:

And the rest...

--- the roof has openings for the owls to deliver the mail :D

If you look closely, there are some fish swimming in the pond  glasses

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
...and just a fun builder picture, lol
...because I melded my tables and benches together, I was unable to use the slots, so had to use omsp's to place the place settings...
...so in order to obtain the regimented dish settings ---heheheheeh--- this is what it looked like as I was setting my 120 sets of dishes down:
After talking abut your build Suzanne, I can now really appreciate the time and effort that goes into each and every build you make.
You are a truly amazing creator, and I admire your dedication to every build.
This is an amazing hall, I like what you have accomplished with the different windows, and the garden is just amazing.
I take my hat off to you!
After looking at all the entries I'm in awe of the work that went into each and everyone. There's some much detail that you can tell took time and effort to find to personalize it to the Harry Potter world. I was wondering what a before would look like if someone used OMSPs, so thank you for sharing that particular photo. I am loving your pond area as well with the little fishies!  inlove34
I'm glad I'm not a judge! cheerleader
lol, Anita <3  I'm just happy I have everyone here who will stand to listen to me talk about it! LOL
My sons will only listen to a point...
...then, I lose them with the details of building, hehehehehehe :D
Trying to explain MOO to those who just like to make their sims do stuff with other sims and move them into premade house and then take down all the walls so they can see *shrug* well... yeah, lol... they think my pictures are nice, but that there are waaaaay too many of them that I make them sit down and look through!
Alouette :D I was sitting there early in the am doing those place settings and I actually looked at what I was doing and I just cracked up laughing!
I am always wondering if other people do some of the crazy stuff I do when I build, so I just had to take that picture! LOL
I'm so glad I did because of your comment! <3
Oh, those fish?  They are a mod from bakiegaming over on modthesims. I had placed them in there because I was going to go into live mode with a sim to light my torches... uh huh. Yep. Me.
(oh, for a good laugh, see my post on The Mix thread, LOL, about that!)
Oh, those fish were jumping, jumping!!!
Then, when I paused because of the sim not being able to get into the building (silly me), the fish froze and created weird blurs!!! It was too funny!
I had to take them out and put in the regular lily pads - which, by the way, DO NOT like to be in pools, heheheheeh.
Oh, yes. This build was fun, all the way around - snark AND no snark <3
O
M
G
!!!
I'm speechless!! I never saw any of the moves, or read the books, but I have seen enough pics to  know you nailed it!! And, the outside is absolutely stunning!!! And, the way you thought to leave the roof open for the owls! You definitely think of every single detail and I absolutely love your builds and designs!!
And, I soooo giggled when I saw all the OMSPs!! I don't hardly have the patience to decorate a couple shelfs when I have to use those, and I can't imagine 120 place settings!!! LMAO
Truly Outstanding!!
Sam & TJ - Thank you! <3
--- The sims and OMSPs and my desire to get "right" have taught me patience, LOL
Seriously... I thought I'd used a lot of OMSPs for TOH, The Heart of the Kitchen (round 2).
...then came DOTY, 1950s Diner.
...then this one!!!
rofl301
I have never been more thankful for ez2ciamaprincess' OMSP stairstep set in my life!
heheheheeheheh
On a more thoughtful note, however... DOTY has truly been the learning/growing experience I'd hoped for. I've done builds I would never have thought of doing. I really believe my camera work has improved --- even if I still like some of my odd angles, lol :D
I will be glad to be able to work on a more reasonable and sane pace, though. This not sleeping for two days in a row is NOT good for me :D
I will also be glad to get back to working on builds for here. I cannot wait to work on the combo May BAD/I-Create small house/garden focus I started a zillion years ago LOL
Let's all cheer Nikki on as she finishes this final round for DOTY.
I can't wait to see what she comes up with!
Lorry :D
Those were just for the fork-plate-knife settings on the long tables, lol...
(that last picture with all the purple? Those were just the omsp's for the aforementioned place settings for 7 or the 8 rows; I'd already turned the 1st row invisible)
There were vases pretending to be water carafes... candles... then the headmaster tables.
Oh, and those tables? They weren't sitting atop foundation.
I "built" a stage with the simcredible steps from one of the bathroom sets... heheheheh
I had to raise everything with 9 key - tables, chairs, omsp's with stuff on them, the fake wall pieces... the lectern, the hat... LOL
Yeah. I had fun with this one :D
I had originally used foundation, then dug out the part I didn't need. However, there wasn't enough floor space for the long rows of tables and benches I wanted...
...so, I got creative and built a stage, LOL!
Your entry is absolutely amazing, I'm fortunate that you did not move on.
I recognize that with OMSP I think I used over 100 just to slide the tables and then you have to make all invisible too, it's almost harder. I know there is a courage for Sims 2 to remove all at once, but you must have a sim for it to work.
Lorry ~~~>  rose2
Marie - You did wonderfully! The judges decided this  summerB7
I entered to have fun and grow and learn.
Guess what? I did have fun :D
I do believe I grew and I did learn that I could do builds that I would not ordinarily do :D
...I was actually surprised that the other contestants who were eliminated did not continue on and do jFFs...
...I think they missed out on a great opportunity.
I'm so happy that you went through all 8 rounds - I am so very proud of you for that.
I'm also very proud of Nikki for going into the finals.
Just think - 3 of us from CBS entered! I think that is so totally Amazing!!!
Anneke - Thank you my friend <3 HappyDay
