I've been to Amsterdam and didn't like it that much... I guess It's just to busy for me. I'm more of a small town girl :) Give me the forest over the city any day. I'd love to go to Australia one day but I don't know if it will ever happen. I haven't travelled much so far anyways. But a girl can dream right?

When I went to Europe, I found it's so different to Australia, particularly the houses.
The countryside is amazing, everywhere I went was so beautiful, I would love to go back and perhaps make it to Amsterdam! LOL

That is my life time wish as well Lorry! Being able to travel abroad.
I have NEVER been outside my country.... hubby just does not see it the way I do and I don't want to go on my own or with a group on strangers.

Sigh..... sometimes wishes do come true!

My brother went to Australia a few years ago, and he said he found it much similar to the Cape Provence here in South Africa. I was amazed by that!

I went with my daughter and I was terrified.....but we were with a group that met in Rome and traveled around on a bus for 11 days.  It was just fabulous, and we felt safe with our tour group!

The last part of our trip, we were on our own. But we were fine!

I've been to Mexico, Canada (both ends), and Hawaii... but Hawaii doesn't count because it is part of the US, lol...

...I'd love to do more international traveling - there are so many wonderful places on this planet!

I have not traveled so much never traveled to any summer vacation either. When my parents had a holiday, we went by car in Sweden and Norway and slept in tents that was the way they did. At an early age, I have been in Norway and Denmark.
I could write a long list of places I would like to visit.

Hey Tahoe I know what you mean... My parents never took us farther than an hour drive from our hometown for camping trips. The first time I ever went to another country (Belgium doesn't count since it's so close haha) I was 16. Never been outside of Europe. I too can give you a extensive list of places I'd love to see.

I live in Calgary, Alberta - big metropolitan city.
We have one of (if not the biggest) annual rodeos in the world, complete with a giant fair/carnival and a lot of expos/shows. Because of that, Calgary's known as "cow town" to a lot of the rest of Canada... and we really like cowboys/westerns. You can't really go anywhere without seeing cowboy boots and horses - it's like Texas, but without the heat. I love it for that, but there are others who think it's lame.

The art and food culture here is pretty killer though. Can't go very far without seeing a mural, sculpture, or public art installation - the city beautification is on point, and they keep the city pretty clean. The food is to die for, and because it's such a massive multicultural spot, there's literally everything.

How cool, Arellamarie!

Calgary is not a place I've had the opportunity to visit... either ends of Canada, but not there. It sounds like it would be an interesting place to visit - even if it is Texas without the heat, lol!

Sam - you need to upload a map picture with pins or starts or some such showing all the places you've been! :D

I wish I could..I couldn't even tell you or remember half of the places I had been to..

Someone also suggested I do a book on what and where I had been..good grief I can't hardly remember where I was yesterday let alone from (1989 I think) to 2009..hehe..

LOL!

Just do what you can...

...I know when I try and remember exactly what was going on in my past that it can be foggy - however, when I start thinking about one thing, it often leads me to others.

...then, all I have to do is try to put it all into chronological order! Where I have gaps, I then think about those times before and after - it helps to fill in those truly murky areas!

It's quite but close enough to civilization where we could be there in 5 minutes. Summers are too humid and winters are too brutal. No compromise lol

I Live in a small town about an hour away from Buffalo New York. Only about 5k people live here so its pretty quiet. Its a beautiful town and the erie canal runs directly through my backyard, people always think im kidding when I say that, but its actually less than a few feet away from me ROFL

EVen though we have two seperate schools here, alot of us (including me) do online school. Its really fun here, but not much to do. Its a classic small town, alot of bonfires or boat rides and even dirt bike racing. My little brother is about 12 and hes a pro flat track rider so alot of us spend our sundays at the tracks or on the ontario lake. Wouldnt trade it for the world
