Your pictures are beautiful !!
I've always had a thing for England
maybe because my father was there much
for the coating of furniture
and buy antiques

I think you really have found the place
where you feel the finest and home and gives you the peace
I'm so happy for you :flowersmilie:

Yes, Anita, its a nice place to live and London is actually a beautiful City. But where I live is not one of the prettiest villages or towns. We have some gorgeous little villages in England.
This one is one of my favorite, a small village called Bibury in the Cotswolds. I would love to live here....but it is very expensive!

If I lived in Hannibal, MO it would be different..you have the Mississippi River and a beautiful park over looking it..when me and the kids lived there we spent a lot of time there..watching the Chipmunks, tree squirrels, and rabbits all the time..I would sit where I could see the kids and watch the river and the river boats go down it...

Beautiful place to visit but not a good place to raise your kids..I feel..we lived there two years..

Tilly I can't speak........OMG so beautiful!
When my daughter and I spent 4 days in London, I yearned to visit the country areas of England. We did go on a tour to Stonehenge, which was a highlight of our trip and I did make it to Bath. I am a huge Jane Austin fan along with my daughter, but we didn't have time to see her house. So close yet so far crying
I love, love, love Midsomer Murders, and the countryside is so incredibly beautiful in the tv series. I would dearly love to return just to see more. Your country is beautiful with so much history, I envy you living where you do.

I have never heard of the village of Bibury but that's just gorgeous.  :girlie5:

Sometime I'll post here. I'm going out and about this weekend and hope to get a few photos of the leaves changing colours!  :Autumn_15:

It is wonderful here in Phoenix.. We are entering fall 90-95 during the day and 65-70 at night. I wish it would stay like this. Summer was a scorcher. Winter is fairly mild here.. I think it averages between 40's - 60-70.

Tilly:What a beautiful and serene area Bibury must be! Lorry is right, you are fortunate to live in a country with so much history! Even more so because of the heritage side of it. I am so sorry to say that in S A we have very little to show of our past. The oldest buildings here might be the court houses, and even they are being scarred with the new "additions" to it.

I would really like to visit all those places one day soon...

Anita I think your country has the most interesting animals, we try to replicate that in our zoos, but it's not the same and I don't like animals to be in cages, my husband refuses to visit the zoo with me for this reason.
Plus your country boasts the most inspirational man ever in Nelson Mandela, he will always be remembered in history. He is a legend!

Renee I envy you your  lovely weather.  It's spring here, but you would think it was winter :Autumn_10: I don't like the cold at all!

I am actually a Bostonian.. I love the weather there and the fall foliage. I loved the storms & blizzards
once I retired. Still trying to get use to the dust storms and foul air here in AZ.

Hey Sam, I guess we go with what we know. I think Tucson is a bit cooler than here.Sometimes I wish I could go back home. I miss my seafood and the ocean and the wonderful clean air.
How long have you lived in Missouri?

Off and on since 1979..this time around it's been since 2011..came back only because of the kids and grandkids..realized that they were in really bad shape so stayed to try and help them out..

I was actually born in Saint Louis but moved to Nevada when I was 3..till I graduated from High School in 79 then moved to Missouri

Sam, I followed my family out here... really didn't want to leave. Glad that I did cause I got to spend 4 more years with my sister. We did not pick up on what she was going through. Too old to move back and would not want to leave my family.

I moved back here after graduating to meet my real dad..big mistake..and then got married bigger mistake had 3 kids..no regrets..and then got stuck here..

I don't blame you for not wanting to leave your family..that is the only reason I came back to this place because of kids and grandkids..

I prefer dry heat, myself... I've been all over the US while in the military and beyond. I do miss being right on the ocean, though...

Bidbury is lovely... I'd like to visit one of these days :) The closest I was to Missouri would be either Texas or Mississippi giggle

Suzanne giggle That's too funny!

I'll be on the Mississippi river this weekend, actually. I'm hoping to take some photos of the leaves changing colours on the trees to share with you all!  This is definitely my favorite time of year but I'm not so fond of what comes after it.  :Autumn_16:

Good they will all see the Mississippi River..and I will get a picture this weekend of the Missouri River..

Me and the kids used to go across the river on the Illinois side and under the bridge there we would swim or with them wade to their ankles lol.. they were only 2, 3 , 5 at the time..and they would play in the sand closest to the beach they had ever been lol

I live in upstate NY. Lots of small villages with some beautiful views of the mountains and valleys. Winters can be harsh at times, but the snow is very beautiful.
