LOL< Matt, no I think I missed the "w", my fingers and the keyboard do not always work well together! Feeling a bit ambarrased now.... emb6

But, you are quite correct, we spell colour, neighbour, favour and so on with the "u".
I am actually Afrikaans, we have 11 official languages in South Africa, can you believe it! I am only able to converse in Afrikaans or English. I know a little German, but can not speak any of our indigenous languages. Which is a shame you now. But I am too old to learn that now.

Do we have anyone from Britain?  I'd love to ask them a question about their "squiggly" lines on the roads and what they mean?!

I know you'll have fun on your trip, Marie :D

Virginie - what a wonderfully peaceful picture!

Matt, ask Lisa (Tilly). I do believe she lives in England.

Ariadne - I lived for a little while in Dallas-Ft Worth when I was about 4... my Dad was an aerospace engineer and we did a lot of moving around between ages 2-4... then we went back to So Cal where I'm from. I live in Las Vegas now and we are looking to have 100-degree weather tomorrow! LOL

I'm in Florida. It's 88 here but feels like 91. We still aren't in the really hot months. It's really humid and overcast today which just makes it worse. We don't use the A/C so it's really sucky today. I wish it would rain but it probably won't.

The lack of humidity is both wonderful and terrible (here in Las Vegas), May...

...I'm glad for dry heat, but go through lotions and moisturizers like there is no tomorrow! giggle

Humidity sucks!  But there has to be some otherwise your nose feels like everything's going to fall out.  Denver gets this way if your not used to it.

I grew up in Elko, Nevada..dry heat..no electricity, running water, air conditioner, fans..didn't have a tree around us for miles..no grass..just 5 acres, horses, chickens, geese, ducks, rabbits, wild turkeys, a pig or 2 some years, had to carry water from town..and an outhouse..lol..in a trailer...I never got hot, sweated..or anything..until I moved to Missouri..then all of a sudden..when I got up from sitting I had wet pants, arm pits were humiliating and in other areas that I won't mention heat rash from omgosh.. shame thlol ...and I love, love Arizona..also dry heat..no embarrassing moments living there either..lol..so all you that love the humidity you can have it all..I will send it your way..lol..

I live in Northern Lower Michigan (tippy top of the lower peninsula) - we are right by Lake Huron and it is absolutely beautiful. a little cold, & tourist season isn't always fun (ugh rude tourists) but locals are extremely friendly, and the community is very awesome. c: we don't live far from Mackinaw City so when I have extra $$ Mackinac Island is a nice day trip.

Parking can be at a premium, so this is how Aussies are beginning to park!

Ok I'm kidding giggle

I do feel sorry for the person that trusted a valet to park his beloved Porsche at the Hyatt Regency today in Sydney......ahhhh where's the break angry

Matt, I didn't realize you were are in Omaha! We are beginning to get a nice little Midwestern group here. giggle

Virginie, I love France! My husband is from there, so we are hoping to move abroad in the next year or so. The job he has here will transfer him back to the area he is from on the Mediterranean so we're very excited!

That sounds exciting Alouette! I love France, but I particularly love Paris. Such a beautiful city.
Matt, i just read your question about squiggly road markings....If you mean zig-zags, it means no stopping, overtaking or parking: usually outside schools, hospitals, fire stations or before a pedestrian crossing, to keep it clear. And there are usually cameras around and you get fined if you mess up, lol.
It was the pups first birthday yesterday. We took them to meet up with their Mum and their brothers and sisters.....
We went to Clumber park which is about an hour away from where I live. It was a bit rainy, but the dogs loved it!

Digger is the one just landing in the water, lol

Beautiful pics, Tilly.
I am surprised by the fact that so many of them play together without being temperamental.
They are an an amazing species.
