Today has been up and down with the weather.  During the afternoon at work, a major thunderstorm came through.  We all heard a loud noise, then the power went out.  Then the tornado sirens started and we all had to wait it out in the hallway -- no one could see very well as the power was out -- very dark in that hallway, hahaha.  Anyway, the power never did come back on, so we eventually went home.  I found out after I got home, that there had been an actual tornado very close by.  We also had some flash flooding on the roadways -- so it was a tense drive home.  I'm hoping tomorrows weather is a lot calmer raining

Where are you at Rosanne..I'm in Jefferson City, Missouri and we have had severe weather here all day..talked to one of my son's in Boonville, MO and it rained so hard it tore up parts of the streets and the rain was well over the ankles..and almost up to the knees with the grandkids..when school let out..and the basement flooded and when they went down to finish the laundry..the basket was floating around lol..

Are you in Tornado Alley..I love, love tornadoes..been in several over the years..and me and the kids used to sit outside and watch to see if a tornado was going to form in the clouds..most of the time we were close lol..we still do that..

I'm in Mid-Missouri - between Clinton, Sedalia, and Warrensburg. About 2 hours from Jefferson City.  And yes, we are in tornado alley. Sometimes, the weather can get pretty crazy. crazyspin

I love it when it's school holidays on a very cold morning of 3 degrees ding

Hubby and I went for a walk and an amazing breakfast, into the city!

Look no traffic claphands1  Although there are 2 hotels being built here summerB12
so that could be another reason why it's so quiet

This little boy was stuck in the middle of fountains that are activated by movement giggle

Enjoying the view and the serenity over breakfast

Beautiful pictures Lorry..

But just to many sky scrapers for me..and to crowded..I would be having serious anxiety attacks just thinking about walking outside there..although I have them anywhere..

I'm in California, and we live in a house with no air conditioning, so this time of the year... it's hot hot hot. Not as bad as it would be further inland though. summer13

I grew up in the desert of Nevada without, electricity, running water, air conditioning, fans..nothing..and it wasn't that hot there at the time..I am sure with climate change it's hotter/colder than it was back before 1979 and when I went back 20 year later it still wasn't nearly as hot is it now..I don't think..I couldn't live without modern day things now..no matter where I was to live lol..

Just seeing what you have there is way to many for me..

Now Jefferson City is the Capital and we don't have a lot of skyscrapers here..and downtown is still old buildings that I just love..1-2 stories..one of these days I am going to have to take pictures of the Capital..I went by it today and they are working on the front..lots and lots of what are those things called that..when renovating an outside of a building..????

Lorry, your pictures of the city is beautiful and very modern!
It seems quite serene to me too, I would love to experience it one day.
Water is always an attraction for kids, bet he did not know about getting wet! LOL.
Logan, my grandson, is also quite fond of playing in the water, though he does not always like to go swimming. His mom is having him getting lessons.

Sam I love old buildings, the older the better!

LOL Anita it was a very cold morning, clearly he didn't expect the fountains to rise.
I think all children should learn to swim.....they start very early here, as in young

Oh my gosh I HOPE you do experience it one day......I will happily show you around summerB9
You always have a place to stay here.......no cooking though ROFL

Gorgeous pictures, Lorry - I would love to visit Australia <3

Ktar - I grew up in the San Fernando Valley - yep, no ac for us, either...

...and while my parents moved the fan into their bedroom at night, neither my brother nor I had one in our rooms, lol.

Anita - how is your weather right now?

Sam - stay cool! While we get really hot here in Las Vegas, we generally don't have much in the way of humidity (it was actually 41% the other day and just yucky), you do. I couldn't live there, lol.

The little boy standing stalk still in the middle of those fountains is adorably funny, but I do feel for him <3
