I want to show you where I live

I live near Cologne (20 km away)
I love Cologne :flirty:

This is my village

Carnival in Cologne
People celebrate and drink for almost a week. It is perhaps the biggest event in Germany  NewY4

I found out last night that I am Norwegian-Scotland on my mom's side not my dad's..so now wondering what nationality I am on my dad's side..I also found out that my Grandmother's maiden name is Martin..I think that is how she spelled it..all those years she raised us I didn't know that..

I was trying to figure out what Nationality Nickens was..

Wish I could go back and find out more and see where my family came from..

Maybe for Christmas Santa can bring you one of those DNA tests? Those look neat and would give you a general idea anyway.

I know I am primarily German but curious what else I may be.

I took some photos today at the river to share with you guys. It hasn't been cold enough for the leaves to really start changing yet so we're hoping to go back in a week or two. We scouted out a few locations for our wedding and reception too. It was a productive day!  coffeetime

I forgot about that will have to do the Missouri River tomorrow..

Conny your pictures remind me of some of the beautiful jigsaw puzzles I have done throughout my life.  The beauty of Cologne is breathtaking, and the House of 4711.....oh my gosh my mother used to wear that cologne!!  I remember the label too, it was always in our house.
When I went to Germany, actually Europe in general, the trees and vegetation are so different to Australia.  And I will post more photos when the weather here improves!

Sam have you ever thought of tracing your heritage through Ancestry.
http://www.ancestry.com

My mother in law has traced back many years of her family heritage through 'Ancestary'
haha she's always trying  to get my details, but I make her suffer and tell her very little.....she's a real sticky beak!!
All I will tell her is that I am a 3rd generation Australian giggle

Conny: Your village looks absolutely gorgeous.
Sam: I could not drink coffee when I was pregnant, but as soon as I had a baby so it went well again. I'd probably done me no, but a coffee cup in the nearby when I decorate the sim is a must. Very good coffee = creativity and vice versa, of course I drink coffee at other times as well, except in the morning when I must have tea. :coffee23: ☕

Cologne is gorgeous, Connie! Do you visit the river often? I'd love to visit there...

I think everyone should come to Vegas with their laptops for a weekend at my house... I have unlimited Internet, so we could all plug in and create/play The Sims and drink coffee, tea, or Pepsi (or what ever else desired) and just have a blast!

Conny, what a beautiful place you stay in. I realize every time I see a picture from our members staying in the northern hemisphere, that they have cherished their heritage right from the word go! I envy you all that privilege!

I love the buildings and the restaurant is quite something as well! Maybe we should meet thereone day and travel from there to Tilly's favourite place! claphands1

Yes Lorry I am registered with Ancestry but for some reason I can't get past my Dad's name..it won't allow me to..and I can't put in any other name now..I will have to wait to get enough money to do this..

I would go nuts without my computer crazyspin crazyspin so I would have to bring my computer..just thinking if I was with all of you I wouldn't want to be on the computer so I would leave my computer home and just enjoy everyone's company.. :amour2:
