Well done Renee!
I gave up smoking last December and have never looked back. Except I have put on weight, which is really weird for me, but I have stopped ALL chocolate finally giggle

Sam it's so good that you have cut back, I know how hard that can be! I loved smoking, and if it wasn't for the fact that I needed life saving surgery, I might still be smoking today.
Not only that, cigarettes here are extremely expensive, so for a packet of about 40, you would pay around $50, a carton with 6 packets would be well over $200. You also have to be careful where you smoke, otherwise you may cop a $200 on the spot fine. And heaven help you if you get caught throwing a butt on the ground gnome There are even apartments you can buy that are smoke free zones......so you can't even smoke in the grounds of these apartments!

Anita I have such a sweet tooth, but I am really trying to cut all that out due to weight gain.
I know if you take 15 mils of apple cider vinegar then a tablespoon of coconut oil, this can stop sweet cravings.

Lorry: I have lived in an apartment similar. There was no smoking allowed on the grounds or in the apartments. I was glad of it because I really do not like cigarette smoke. I didn't know how expensive cigarettes are in Australia!  Drama

Renee: That's impressive! Well done, indeed!  danceG

Sam: I'm going to keep sending those good vibes your way. You may win just yet!  summerba

Alouette it's good to know we aren't the only ones that have smoke free living.
At first I was thinking that we were being dictated to and I didn't like that a company could tell people how they should live. But then I thought it was a good idea, especially now giggle
I actually like the smell of cigarette smoke, I didn't while I was smoking!

Lorry: We also have laws against smoking in all public places, you are not allowed to smoke in your car if you have children with you. I like both laws, but are wondering how on earth will they be able to charge you for the latter!

The restaurants have cubicles where the smokers sit, and it is very small in comparison to the rest of the restaurants for the non-smokers.

The workplaces also have separate cubicles where the smokers may go to have their cigarettes. I find that quite unfair. The smokers are allowed to go have their fill for as many times a day they might need it, but the non-smokers are not allowed to stand around or having coffee or tea.
So at my office, I have set aside a small area where we make coffee and tea, and we sit together enjoying that a few times during the day..... still waiting to hear from the other bosses complaining. Fortunately for me I am the Judicial Head of the office.... so not many can complain against me...giggle One must enjoy the few perks there are available...giggle

Lorry: I am going to try out your recipe to cut down on the cravings.... do you take that on an empty stomach?

ROFL  Anita I am so happy you are entitled to perks........as if anyone would complain about you anyway!  budhug

My husband had the worst chocolate cravings, yet I have seen him eat little of it. He has been taking apple cider vinegar, which can be diluted if you want, and coconut oil for a while now, and he has no craving for sweet food at all.

Take it on an empty stomach!

You can't smoke in cars with children here as well, and YOU will be charged if caught claphands1
I don't think any restaurants here have places where you can smoke.  They might have them outside but definitely not inside.
You can't smoke in parks especially if it is designed for children, meaning has play equipment.
No smoking on beaches either.
Eventually, the only place you will be able to  light up, is in your home.

While I didn't like these laws when I was a smoker, I feel they have played a part in me kicking the habit.......:Spring2

You know you can't smoke in the car with children and I totally agree there..it started out with foster kids in the car and home with foster kids then went to all kids..some of the laws are good I will give you that..but when they start takes rights away from you on certain things..like the whole town in the public areas..give me a break..Columbia is like 300,00 people or more..

Now if I went to another Country and they had these same laws..yes absolutely would watch the laws and not complain..

I agree Sam!
The government here and 'do gooders' are very dictatorial.
I was a little shocked when I went to Barcelona, a waitress was cleaning a table in a restaurant (outside) smoking at the same time ROFL

I haven't seen that here..but they do have some restaurants that have it sectioned off..for smoking and non smoking..but even in there I don't smoke..don't feel you should smoke in restaurants kids go in there..and who wants to smell and see smoke in their food..

I'm not heartless..I just don't think it's right to take away all our rights..

I went to a casino years ago when I did gamble a bit when hitch hiking..and I was smoking and this lady sat next to me and asked me do you mind..and I said what..yes I do mind..and started blowing smoke her way..

Now even when there are smokers around I try real hard not to have the smoke go in their face..but that lady just set me off..

ROFL Oh my gosh Sam you are funny!
You can't smoke in the casino here at all. They used to have a smoking room, which was horrible. I'm not sure if it's still there now. You could probably smoke in rooms set aside for high rollers that they fly in.

Around here, casinos are one of the only public places left where people can still smoke inside. Otherwise, smokers have to go outside at least a certain distances from doors. I remember when I was a child there were smoking and non smoking sections in restaurants, etc. I'm glad those days are gone!

In California they have smoking and non smoking rooms in the Casino's there is where that Lady set me off at lol..was there with my sister and her bf..

I don't know about here..I haven't been in this Casino in years and back then you could smoke except in the Restaurant and I don't go into bars anymore so not worried about either place..just when you are walking down the street like in Columbia, MO can't do that..that is what ticks me off...good grief it's outside..

When I was hitch hiking I never threw my cigarettes on the ground..I carried a bottle with a little bit of water in it and put the butts in there..now mind you there was a few times I was so thirsty that I forgot about that bottle opened it up and just about gagged shame thlol thlol

ROFL Oh my gosh Sam that would have tasted disgusting. I always put my butts out in water and I had a bitty bin to dispose of the butts. Someone one told me, I was the cleanest smoker they had ever seen! giggle
It's so nice that I don't have to worry about all that anymore
