I am in the process of (learning to) recolouring stairs.

If you want or have seen stairs with a runner on it that you would like to have in your game (sims 4 only) please post a pic of it here.....

I might be able to create that for you, but you will all contribute to feed my cretivity in this regard.

Looking forward to this new project!

Did someone ask for stairs???  LOL

Runners, no runners, I like both... that and tile steps and wooden or brick risers... but here's my input for you!

And remember stair corner pieces? rounded and square deco additions? from ts3?

ts3 corner stair deco - square and rounded...

Szanne: though I have not attempted to mesh with the TSR Workshop.... those corner pieces will definitely come in handy! As you know we are restricted on stairs due to the animation. And I like things to work..... though I might be able to make a few as deco for you to decorate with.

Poppy: You have added quite a number of interesting and beautiful variations on the stairs. I love them all!!

I am feeling quite inspired.... I am going to make this a project... so keep posting your wish list here..... after all it is almost Christmas! :winter2016_24:

Anita, you are so very sweet!

If I recall, the corner pieces were definitely deco, so you had to plan actual stairs... there was another item - a "stair cover" that was placed to look like rounded steps... in order to keep the proper animation, one simply put a regular game stair down (2-4 risers, I think) and placed the deco steps right over it.

Mutske's corner pieces did not work like that, but the other item did...

...hang on, going to go find a picture and a link...

Round it!!!

Oh, and a few other goodies, lol...

4ESF made this little set with 2 colors, white and black...

more stair ideas...

and this one because it is just so stunningly gorgeous! I think this was ts2... I really miss the shiny floors... there were semi-transparent, semi-reflective pieces (like see-through rugs...) Then there were Murano's floors!!! Oh, I miss those! But, Bruha (spelling?) makes some cool reflective pattern pieces and Madhox over at ModtheSims :)

Renee - it has been so long since I played ts2, I really can't remember much about it except all the beautiful cc... I went to ts3 because we all (both my sons and I) wanted to try it and we all fell in love with the Create-A-Style. With that, though, came the need to be endlessly picky about the cc patterns because they could crash the game... It was a lengthy process to load them through the game launcher when everything else could just be dropped in the Mods folder LOL!

ts3 was the game where I really fell in love with building and searched out all the tutorials, spent endless hours trying new things, and really getting to understand building concepts (without too much care for whether an actual sim could get around, lol).

The move to ts4 was the same - we all wanted to see the new game... as I've stated in other locations, I was (and still am, for the most part) very impressed with the stability of the game. I do miss being able to raise and lower terrain in this game, but not having too worry (too much) about cc is a great thing.

I am working on seeing how it goes with just loading some cc folders instead of all of them... as in putting them in, saving the tray files with cc, then removing those folders and adding in more new folders... this seems to work better and my game loads in just a few minutes instead of taking hours...

...it is also easier to find stuff! LOL

Okay, enough nerd talk... I'm off to go work on my build :D

If anyone needs any assistance with ts4, please let me know... maybe we could start a new thread (Lisa?) if anyone thinks it may benefit more than just one person... And, if I don't know, I do know how to find out and I could post links - if you want.

I think that would be super helpful Suzanne! Its been so long since I've played TS4, and even then I only had the base game. It's going to feel like I'm pretty much a newbie to the whole game.

These stairs are all sooo pretty. It'd be hard to pick which ones to do.  claphands1

And that, my dear Alouette, is the constant struggle of a cc download junkie...

...picking the exact thing you want in that moment.

...which may change the next moment.

...or the one after that.

LOLOLOL wasnt

Hi Suzanne,
I am not sure if I will try Sims4 anytime soon, being a creature of habit I like what I know.
It seems so different to me. You all seem so enthused about it. Maybe,It will rub off on me.
How many ep's do you have for Sims4? I kind of like that I have all of Sims2 and don't have to worry about downloading for some ep I don't have. Are you going thru Origins? The games seem so expensive.

Exactly, Alouette!

Renee, I have everything for ts2, ts3, and am current with ts4. In fact, all the ts4 games, packs, stuffs, and expansions are on sale at Origin...

...so, if you were thinking about getting it, now would be the time (base game ts4, $10.00 US)!!!

Originally I had just the Sims 4 base game, but thanks to Black Friday, Santa (or my fiance... same thing right?!) came early and brought me City Living and the other expansion packs.  danceG

Origin is a life saver. I really don't want to have 20 cases sitting around with discs.  swear

Do you remember Phoenix_phaerie? She had this wonderful Mansion House Build set. There's a pic of stairs she never released (as far as I know). I always wanted them for Sims 2. Maybe there's a chance for Sims 4?! flirty
