Nope, and one cannot yet create stairs in sims 4 with the Studio.
Though I have seen a conversion, cannot remember who it was, of a sims 2 stair and rail set.

One can recolor the stairs with The Sims workshop, but it is a very tedious job.

Sigh..... we will have to wait a while longer for the ability to mesh new stairs.

Thank you Sam, I've deleted the post.
Why did sims 4 make it so difficult with stairs???? I had some really beautiful ones for sims 2. In sims 4 we only get deco. As I like to build houses that are playable, it irritates me.... flyer

All I want is a spiral staircase in TS4 and I will be happy with the game...stairs take up way too much space!

Elyn (and anyone else who is interested), there are a few deco spiral stairs (conversions of gosik's stairs and slox made a conversion of a gorgeous spiral stair - can't remember if it is a gosik or luna stair).

If you are a player, though, you are out of luck for now.

There are some great conversions (deco, as well) of the other luna stairs, as well as Inge's cottage half-landing stairs, and maxims has done some great deco stairs. 13pumpkins has some, too.

There are also a few sets of railing pieces, stair & railing pieces... that sort of thing.

I'm more than happy to provide links. I've used a lot of those items in my builds (take a look at my portfolio here at cherryblossoms for examples of in game use). Just let me know :D

Agreed on the need for different options for stairs. I really would have thought they would have put out a pack for them by now. I want teleporters, elevators, spiral stairs, and L-Shaped stairs. Every time I find myself in the EA forums I mention it, lol.

I cannot understand why it is taking the creators of the game so long to do this for the sims 4 as well, one would think they have the expertise to do this, with two other successful games behind them as far as stairs are concerned.

So let us hope someone out there will assist us with this.

I have been wondering if someone could create stair pieces...

...obviously they would be deco like the variations of the cottage stairs and spiral stairs that have been converted, but could you imagine what we could do with parts and pieces?

...we could build L-shaped, U-shaped, etc., with pieces - we'd also need railing pieces :D

I think that would be awesome until EA decides to actually figure out how to provide stair shapes.

In ts3 due to terrain elevation cheats, all of that was possible. I'm not sure how they would code them in ts4, but they could, with limited shapes and still be able to have appropriate animation.

...I think stuff like this, lol :D

...I wonder if TwistedMexi could do something like this <3

(Does anyone know TwistedMexi? Then we could ask...)

Do we know anyone who knows anyone who knows Twisted Mexi or someone who could take this one?

Could you do it, Anita?

I have no idea how this would even work...

...but, I'd love to help in any way I could! <3

I don't get it..why have stairs if you can't use them..and why not have stairs you can actually use..like in Sims2...omgosh I think EA/Origin went down hill with Sims4 in creating things to actually use.. dontgetit

It would be more for decorators/builders, at this point, Sam...

I have no idea if EA ever plans on creating different stair shapes and the necessary animations...

In the meantime, it would be nice to be able to build with them :D

I can certainly give it a try Suzanne..... I will leave it up to you to make the line drawings of it. It would be easier then to see what you actually want and I might be able to slap a few blocks together.

The railings might be a different story though, since one would have to make so many different variations to suit different styles that it might become quite time consuming.

I don't think the in game versions will work on a deco stair.

But nothing is impossible you know...... giggle

I will give it a whirl...

I'm thinking pretty simple for railings - like the ones for the cottage stairs the mxims redid. Just straight line railings - keep it simple in a variety of colors.

Stair blocks - yes, that sounds right.  Hmmmm... maybe in a single, double, triple, and 4 stair grouping? Then another set of half height, three-quarter height?

There is a set of "half-walls" that consists of several heights, not just a few. Let me find the link for that - it has enough heights, you can fill in each level of stair for regular EA stairs...

...ah, yes! Brujah236 unlocked all the rest of the half walls 4th Item Down

Varying heights going up that can be raised with the 9 key like any other deco object (no snapping to walls, lol)...

Landing pieces in single and double square pieces that can also be raised and placed next to each other...

All of these in wood colors, I would think - maybe Peacemaker's woods?

I'll draw it out, lol :D
