Hi, cherries!  I've been away from the forum much too long, and I've missed you all very much.  2016 wasn't good for many reasons, but the one most responsible for my absence was my eyes; I had cataracts that decided quite abruptly to get much worse.  Well, on 14 February I had my second surgery, and by coincidence that same day a message popped up in my email about a topic I was watching here.  With a reminder like that, I knew I needed to stop by with hugs for anyone who wants one.  I hope to be back to simming and visiting here regularly again very soon!

Croidure, it is wonderful to hear from you.
I wish you a full recovery with your eyes, it is the one thing I am extremely afraid of: not being able to use my eyes.
Thanks for the hug.... here is one especially for you: budhug

Thank you all for your kind words and warm welcome back. I really think everything will be better soon; already I can see so many colours that had gone away it's like a whole new world. Maybe I'll even be able to start up my game again in a couple of weeks!

Marie, if the doctors want to do surgery on your eyes, don't be frightened. The procedures were not bad even for me, and I have other problems (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Sjögren’s Syndrome) that made my surgeries much more involved and riskier than they would be for the typical patient. Also, Sweden has such excellent medical care that I'm sure you'll do great!

I know that it can operate, but it's just that I think is scary, so far, I look good, I need glasses to see something up close, and so I would need a few to see the text on the TV, it is most hard is that I do not see anything in the dark, it has been resolved with a large flashlight, so get the dog in the woods in the middle of the night can be quite exciting in the case when one is also afraid of the dark.

Hi Croiduire - It is nice to meet you. I'm Suzanne.

I haven't met you, yet... but, I'm very happy for you with your cataract surgery. I know how important eyes are... I'm with Marie - losing my eyesight would be very difficult for me!

I'm so very happy for you that the outcome is so wonderful.

I look forward to getting to know you <3

Marie, a very wise, kind eye doctor told me a few years ago, "Cataract surgery is never an emergency.  When the time is right, you'll know."  That was excellent advice.  At that time I could still see quite well with correction.  However, for me, over time the increasing limitations became greater than any fear.  I lost the night, and the stars winked out, one by one.  It became unsafe for me to drive.  I shut down my sims in mid-creation and cried because I could not tell the difference between navy, black, dark brown, or purple--they were all black to me.  By the time the insurance company finally approved my surgeries, I was excited and happy that I would soon be able to see again, not afraid at all.  But I didn't mean to sound pushy.  Trust yourself; you'll know if and when you're ready.

Suzanne, it's a pleasure to meet you.  I've read some of your recent posts, and I look forward to becoming friends.

I've been looking through member albums, and all I can say is Wow!  You guys have been crazy busy whilst I've been gone, and you are all so talented and creative, each with your own unique style.  I still have a ways to go to see everything (I can't look for too long at a time), but what a treat!  I'm loving it!

Well, you can use looking at albums as "looking therapy" in order to get your eyes re-used to looking at things <3

I'm just happy you were able to have the cataracts corrected :D

Thank you, Crissi, for my beautiful signature <3
