After Anita posted a few of her 4 tile wall decals..I decided well maybe I could use the in game pictures you paint and make a few Murals out of them..after getting one and putting it on Photoshop I had a brain fart..what did Anita mean by meshes and all that with the in game decals in Sims4.. dontgetit  did the painting have meshes or could I just use that picture..so here I am asking questions  :summerBa:   giggle

Ok after checking out what I was planning on doing..I got to thinking maybe I should ask a few questions first..
Anita..when you say mesh on these pictures what do you mean..
Second can we take an in game picture that is used for painting and make murals out of them..or is there something else we need to be doing like finding a mesh..for it..or what.

Well a decal is on a mesh, like those wall art writing sayings that are so popular in RL, it's not an actual wallpaper found in build mode. It's an object that lays on top of the wall. Like a window cling, they're normally easily re-moveable in RL unlike paint and wallpaper.

Sorry Sam, I'm not sure how you'd extract the texture from a painting that a sim created (or if you even can) maybe someone with more knowledge can help.

A mesh is the object that the game needs to read and display the item correctly in the game.
Each and every item in the game has a mesh. And it the mesh you need to do recolors.

What makes a decal unique is the transparency attached to it.

As far as I can remember SimPE has a tool that allows you to extract the in game paintings.
But, Sam they are already in the game. Members like to have something new, and you have had great success with the first two murals you made, I would suggest you keep on going that way.

You will see how your creativity will grow.
