I scour decorating sites and sometimes just Google the room types I'd like to work on for inspiration, Tulip <3

Do you have particular styles you like to use?

I like different styles and do my best to individualize the style based on family and lot type but my absolute personal favorite styles are rustic and industrial... better yet the mix of the two. :)

Gladly :) May take some time but I will. Not too long ago I ended up downloading a few files that corrupted my game and it proved to be very difficult to figure out which files were responsible so I had to redo my entire custom content folder. I got most of what I had back and slowly working in my old content to try and find those evil little buggers. Only 5k pakages left to sort through summerB6

I am currently working on rebuilding my old stuff and going back and fixing things up now that I have a few more tricks up my sleeve :) I do think I have one lot I can share here shortly :)

Kitchens!! Especially with all the CC. So many food items, so little room to place it. Seeing all the miniature food makes me wish I had some IRL lol

Livia, your builds are absolutely fabulous! Yeah, I did that on purpose, lol, but it is true. I looked at your sites and was amazed.

On the subject I can't do builds like that till I upgrade my PC... I can't wait! glasses5

LOL Halamae! That made me giggle! I'm like that with most of the things my sims own! And it's hysterical because when I'm out shopping with my oldest daughter (who was more into TS1 when it was out, than even me) ... she'll say "That looks like Sims lamp!" LOL

Livia - I love your Tumblr!!!

You are an amazing builder/designer - a serious WOW!!!

Halamae - I'm right there with you; fortunately, most sims cc doesn't cost anything and helps me keep a serious shopping habit in check! LOL

Melisa - I hope your computer upgrade happens very soon <3

TJ - I had to laugh... I continually see stuff that looks like cc I see in the community - even Ben has laughed about that! :D

Wow really? I have never been to a Ikea store. There's not one in my city and the closest one is about 90 minutes away and I've never had the need. But, I've looked on their website plenty of times when I first bought my house

Oh, you are so right, Lorry! summerB7

I'd forgotten about that, lol.

A new one opened up late last year here in Las Vegas... f

...not only are the furniture and accessories well represented in the sims, so is just walking through their store!

...I mean, I feel like a sim in there trying to walk around - waving my arms and mumbling bad things trying to get from one place to another! ohno

They truly (on purpose) set up their stores so that you walk through every area... and what you want is always far away from the start, lol...

...they do have some shortcuts - which is great for someone like me! LOL

I always gravitate to the kitchen. I just love feeling like I'm renovating and creating/designing a sims's dream kitchen. Bathrooms are a close second favorite for me.

I like modern bathrooms and modern restaurants, as well as beautiful doors and windows. Special decoration styles, such as: Southeast Asian style, European style, modern style, pastoral style and so on

I always start with the livingroom, then kitchen, bathroom and bedroom.
But my favorite room is the livingroom. And if I have to pick a second one it would be the bedroom. The other rooms are just there because your sim needs it  chuckling , otherwise I would only build livingrooms .
The bathrooms are my least favorite, I never really know what to do with them.  I usually just see if I can sneak them in somewhere in the house and make them quite small.
Though it doesn't seem like it, I do enjoy building a complete house....I just can never decide what I want, I tend to change this a hundred times before I'm satisfied with it<<--- perfectionist lol.

My favorite style is shabby chic and country style. And I always build small houses. I like small, cozy rooms:)  You know...those cute little granny houses

And I have to say you can never have too much clutter! Always looking for new clutter cc.

btw. How long does is take you to build a complete house?

Lxy - I like mixing Asian and other styles together - I'd love to see your builds* :D

Rhisa - bathrooms can be a challenge, but a well made one? I love simcredible's showcase bathroom builds - have you seen them?

As to how long to build? That depends... lol. Playable takes me a lot longer as I don't generally play actual sims (I love to build for the visuals, so most of what I do are unplayable).

I just finished a house and am working to complete another (both playable). The first one had to be retested and adjusted several times until Melisa (darksyngr) figured out the final issue with the build. Lorry did all the original testing for me. Basically, that house took a week :D

How long does it take you? And, may we see your builds*?

*"see your builds ---> Please make member portfolios - we all love to look at what each of us does and consider looking at the challenges and contests and joining in <3

Suzanne - The thing with bathrooms is that I just think of them as functional, not as a place that has to look good with clutter and all that lol.
when I play I always pick the steel bladder and the antisceptic traits in the rewards store first thing haha.

Yes, I've seen simcredible's bathrooms, they make really nice things :)

To build a house it usually takes me from 3 days to a week. Like you said it depends...:)

Of course you can see my builds as soon as I figure out how to a make a portfolio and put pics in there lol
