No, no Mod.

One of the patches corrected this.  Here are a couple of pictures for you :D

Here is an excerpt from Carls Sims4 Guide and the link to the whole article:  Click Here

"The Mods Folder
Next, find or create the Mods folder. It should already be there, but if it's not you can right click in the white area within The Sims 4 folder and create a folder, being sure to name it Mods. The game automatically recognizes and attempts to utilize anything in this folder. So, once we download CC, we'll copy the files to that folder.

Tip: You can have other folders inside the Mods folder, so if you'd like to separate out your CC and Mods in to separate folders, or even categorize them by object/clothing type, you can do so! Additionally, Forum member RandyH notes that it's possible to rename mods so long as you keep the .package at the end of the file name. This can make your organization even simpler, and possibly help you track things down easier. All of this is actually a good idea should you run into a mod or piece of CC that gives you trouble, so that it's easier to find and remove.

Script mods are a special type of Mod that must remain inside a zip file in order to work. You must also go to the game options menu (ESC > Game Options > Other > Script Mods Allowed) to enable them. You can see this section in the menu in the screenshot further up where you also enable normal Mods and CC."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh... and before I merged cc, my Mods folders looked like this set of pictures:
I have never used more than this level of subfolders, as I hadn't found the need to do so; however, my understanding is that you can go several levels further.
With merging, though, I don't think you'll need to go more than one or two levels of subfolders depending upon how you organize your cc :D
my mods folder right now has over 3,000 items in it. I am addicted to finding tones of clutter for my houses so they actually looked lived in.
Ice1080 - Maybe you should looking into merging your files too. It might help your game run better and maybe be able to include most of it. There's a thread going about how to do it that's quite helpful.
Queenbee84 - That's about what mine is. But, I have less files, since I merged all of mine into 1gb files. And, that includes CAS stuff tho, which I almost never have in my game (I'm a decorator/creator not a player LOL)
I usually put my mods and poses straight in the mod's folder so I don't have any problems. I also I have a newcc folder where I put my new cc incase it causes the game to crash and when I get to a certain point with that folder I just merge those files. I've heard of people only doing certain things in the game and don't play lol. I try to play the game, but I've just started getting into recoloring and conversions. I've also seen some of your work you do a great job!
Yes, a lot. That part kinda surprised me but I guess it makes sense. When you merge it gets rid of all the duplicate files that give the game issues. Game really hates duplicate files lol.
Queenbee84 - Yes, I do the same thing with a "new cc" folder to test stuff out in the game before merging. And, tysm for the compliment! That made me smile!
Melisa - That's great! That's one of the only reasons I stopped playing with TS3 because it was sooooo laggy (and the ridiculous load time!) with all my CC, and stuff packs/game packs, etc and using the CASt would kill me! I'm impatient to begin with and since I like to decorate it would frustrate me with the serious lag after using it. LOL
TJ -- I know what you mean. TS3 load time was insane. In the end I dealt with it till I got frustrated with crashing my game from the cc. I was so excited when 4 came out and load time was nothing (to start at least, lol).
Lorry -- Oh, you really should. I was so scared to merge because I was afraid it would hurt my game somehow but I am so happy now I did it!
Queenbee, now that is a brilliant idea, having two folders and keeping the newly installed cc separate!! I am going to follow suit from now on!
Lorry, I also added quite a number of cc this past few days, and last night when I wanted to test a mesh I decided not to take out my mods folder. I was pleasantly surprised by the loading time..... still under 5 minutes!!Yay!!
