lol that's funny Skanning..I did have a very large folder..well it was small compared to some other's like Suzanne's lol..but it was big for me..I am trying not to put everything I download in all at once..but it don't look like that is going to happen..right now it is..1.56 GB hehe..and just 3,752 files and 765 folders..that's ok with me since I can get into the game within seconds haha..

Mine is 4GB but that's before my recent shopping so I'm sure it's gonna be bumped up even higher after I put more mods in.  Plus I need to clean it again and organize it more too.

What I also do now is put Poses or other stuff I don't need right now in a marked folder inside the Sims 4 Downloads folder on my Desktop, that way the game won't load them every single time when I have no need for them yet.

I wish I had started keeping a "history" folder of d/l on my desktop ...  at this point, I don't think I could find them all but I've consistently d/l Victorian clothing and furniture that I usually don't use but want to have anyway...  @camyza , yup, you're being very smart claphands1

Dora - When you are in File Manager, you can right click on the Mods folder and select Properties...

...this will show you how many files and the total size of the folder :D

Naomi - with my Big Game and 58.2gb's worth of files (98% merged), it only takes about 1.5 hours, lol... still a long time, but worth the wait to have that much cc...

...however, my Small Game with 29.8gb's worth of files (again, 98% merged), it only takes about 20-25 minutes to load. This is the game build I do most of my projects in for challenges and contests.

...my mostly cc-free game (yeah, I know, there is still cc in it! heheheheh) that I'm using right now to build houses for downloading only has 3.61gb's worth of files (all unmerged) and takes about 5 minutes to load :D

Sam & Skanning - you two are hilarious!!! (I upload everything I download to my OneDrive for safe keeping, heheheh AND I have a complete set of files and folders for my unmerged cc on my system.)

Camille - I'm doing more and more of that - folders with specific types of cc for projects that I can put in and pull out, as needed. I'm thinking that I like this method, especially when I need unmerged cc for builds. My only issue is sometimes forgetting necessary meshes. LOL

Methinks this will continue to be an ongoing process :rofl301:

LOL Suzanne! I am still blown away by your "big game"! I can't imagine having that much stuff! I'm on a serious download spree right now, because I just wanna decorate for a while. But, before I do that I need to purge stuff I'll never use. So, I'll be learning about the Tray Importer thingy to delete stuff after I see it in game, cause there is NO way I can remember all the names of stuff by myself! LOL

Ohhh my StellaJ! You definitely should consider merging! You will be amazed at your load time after you do! Just be sure and keep a back up of your unmerged files, just in case! I made the big mistake of deleting a good portion on mine on accident, and I have NO IDEA what I lost! I just know that something in my "all merged files" causes my game to crash if I try to search ingame. So lesson, learned!

J (Stella), for a tutorial on how to merge cc in ts4, check this thread: How to Merge CC in TS4 <3

TJ - I know I need to do a thorough housecleaning of all my cc...

...but (lol), I am building right now, so I don't want to devote the time to do it right now! :rofl301:

Ah those silly meshes escaping XDDD

I love the folder method since I just need to click and drag rather than trying to hunt for it for hours lol!

omg, I only have 2.59Gb in my mods folder.
I feel like such a noob now :rofl301:

I recently started merging files, that helps with loading time.
Also removing all the symbols in the names. when naming cc onl use the underscore if you have to seperate words, but no other symbols and no spaces either, that also helps with loading time

I never timed how long it takes for my game to load, but I'm guessing 5 minutes or so, maybe less

Rhisa up until only recently I had very little in my game as well, but it grows by the day crying

Your game should load very quickly unless you have an old computer. I have double of what you have and mine loads in about the same time........thanks to merging my files!

Lorry - I have a gaming laptop that's  4 years old now. don't know if that's really old.

It runs on windows7,
Intel Core i5 2.5Ghz with turbo boost upto 3.1Ghz
8Gb ddr3 memory
500Gb harddisk
and an Nvidia Geforce Gt 630M 2Gb graphics card.

it runs the game fine,no lag or anything. but considering you have much more cc, my loading time should be faster.

Maybe my laptop really is old lol.
Next time when I start the sims, I'm going to time how long it takes to load :)

LOL these days everything is old after a month!

I am on a desktop computer, and last year I had a solid sate system put in, which is incredibly fast.....I would have liked more but it's also quite expensive, or alternatively I would love an Alienware Laptop.......dream on

You didn't upgrade to Windows 10 Rhisa?

46.8 gigs. Merged, of course. I takes about 15 minutes for my game to fully load.

It's so ridiculous. I need to make an effort to clean up some of the older, borked files.

Lorry - well my laptop doesn't officially supports windows 10.
I tried installing windows 10 on it, it did work, but quickly went back to windows 7 as I was reading on forums that people with the same laptop as me got hardware problems after running windows 10 after a while. So I was like nooooo and went back to windows 7 quickly lol

And I timed my loading times.
to get to the main menu it takes 2 and a half minutes.
and to load a lot to play it takes 1.15 minutes.

So that is quite fast actually, I must be an impatient person lol. thinking 2 minutes is long :rofl301:
