Wow Reddeathlady! 48 GB and only 15 minutes! That's awesome!

Rhisa - That made me laugh! Yes, I'm impatient like that too, when you're sitting and waiting on it to load it does seem to take a long time. But, I normally minimize it and just search online or come here and check some posts while I wait (and end up forgetting I loaded it! LOL)

But, I agree that merging the CC made a big difference in my load times for sure!

RedDeathLady - I seriously need to know what your system specs are!

That is an incredibly fast load time for 46gb!!!  WOW :D

Rhisa you definitely don't need a new laptop with a loading time like that, that is unless you add a lot more CC giggle

My daughter's fiance works at Apple, and he said they never install an operating system over another because generally overtime something will go wrong.......and it did for me when I took the opportunity to upgrade to Win 10.
I had only a small issue, but my computer had to be wiped and do a re install.

I did have the choice of which operating system to go with.......I chose 10, and I love it!

Yes I think this laptop will still do for a long time. Loading time isn't as bad as I thought lol.
Somehow I regularly clean out my cc list, I don't see the point in keeping things that I never use, plus I like to keep my loading time fast lol

Ah see, I was right not to keep windows 10, wise words from the man at apple :)

Windows 10 was a good choice for you :), and well...everybody else I guess lol since newest programs in the future won't run on older windows anymore. and eventually microsoft will stop supporting older windows

But until I need a new laptop I'm staying with windows7.
Also a thing that bugs me about windows 10 is that you can't choose what updates you want to install. Or maybe that changed?

I have been thinking about maybe getting a desktop in the future, but pfff it's all so expensive, of course with the things I want it will cost me about 1300 euro's.
So I'm hoping that the laptop I have now will still last a long time

Rhisa that's exactly why I took the Windows 10 offer.......eventually Win 7 wont be supported, but it was a fantastic operating system

LOL yes you are right, a desktop computer can run into a lot of money!

My game took about 30 minutes to load, but after reading about merging here (didn't know it was possible for ts4 files) I'm at 15 minutes. And I'm not even halfway done merging! So Thanks :)

Gosh, and I thought mine is big! LOL

8,79 GB
7412 files

I sorted them in rooms ( Bathroom, Livingroom, Deco/Clutter etc. )
I have CAS Items, but not in the game folder. I have them seperate on a ext. USB.
Game takes ca. 8-10 min. to load. I have not merged my files. I play on a Gamer Laptop.

Edit: How many folders can we have in the Game mods folder? I have about 8. When I see, that some people here sort there CC as creators, they must have tons of folders in the Game mods Folder?

TaTschu, take a look at these threads:

Help with Mods Folder - there is information on Mods folder levels of subfolders :D

A Place to Ask Questions - after the funny back-and-forth, there are some more specific examples of subfolder information,

and

How to Merge CC in TS4 - step by step on merging.

If you would like more information/clarification, just let me know :D

Lol Lorry, we all seem to be pretty impatient when it comes to loading the sims.
5 minutes seem like half an hour giggle

I remember in Sims 2 I would put the washing on, make the beds , clean up the sink, vacuum and when I finally got into my game......CRASH computersmi
Then I'd start the whole process over again....I had a very clean house!

OOO... Lorry! That is sad!

...not the clean house, but why it was so clean! LOL

Rhisa - one of the reasons I love merging cc so much is that I can have a ton of cc and I only have to wait as long as I did for about half that amount! heheheheh

@broomhilda61 and Tilly....

So...I posted my stats on S4 in this thread somewhere....well, if that isn't enough I tripped across Tilly's S2 finds.  I'm starting to set up my S2 game again.  I love to build and the loss of the terrain tool leaves me uninspired with S4.   Sooo.....I followed one of Tilly recommends to a blog...then picked up a reference to a site I had forgotten (parsimonious)....went over there.  Five hours later and over 500 additional S2 files and I'm on my way...to oblivion????  The thing is...at least S2 has a trashcan.  I'm going for the record here and I'm not sure that's a plus bored I'm beginning to think that the Sims are not my obsession but downloading is!!! ohno

lol skanning..I'm glad you maybe going back to Sims2...I am always looking forward when someone goes back to the Sims2..I am still obsessed with the game...and the downloading CC is an obsession must runcircle

That's funny Lorry giggle

And I thought I would be able to just put in a folder on what I needed for at moment..but that is not happening..everything I have redownloaded is back in the game lol..

Thank you so much Crissi, it's beautiful

I miss terrain tools (ts3), too, Darlene -- but...

...BUT, I do not miss the crashing! LOL

Taylor, don't feel bad...

...I think that you are amazing for only having that amount of cc in your game - I can never seem to do it unless it is literally no cc, as in a cc-free game! hehehe

Beatrice - you may want to look at the thread on Merging in TS4 - it is in Tech Edge in the Help Center :D
