Rhisa - That made me laugh! Yes, I'm impatient like that too, when you're sitting and waiting on it to load it does seem to take a long time. But, I normally minimize it and just search online or come here and check some posts while I wait (and end up forgetting I loaded it! LOL)

But, I agree that merging the CC made a big difference in my load times for sure!

only 15 minutes!! How is that possible? Do you play with script mods as well?

Slewis - I haven't heard back on this topic from Reddathlady, yet...

My large game (58ish gb) takes almost 1.5 hours to load...

...my small game (38ish gb) takes about 25 minutes :D

98% of my cc is merged in both those game loads.

Oh wow I thought I had a lot but its not much in comparison lolol.
14.3 GB/6,856 Files/232 Folders.
My game takes like 7 minutes to load and I usually just surf on Tumblr or mmake a coffee while it loads.
I would love to remove some things, just too much work cause its messy in my mods folder :D
I thought about removing most of my stuff and kinda restart downloading the things I really love.
The problem is that I dunno where I found some of the wonderful stuff :o

Wampyra - in the Help Center, Game Help, Tutorials for ts4... there is a thread that discusses how to use the sims4trayimporter to remove unwanted cc :D

No needing to go through files and folders... just put unwanted cc on a sim (if CAS) or on a lot (if build/buy) and then open the lot in the sims4trayimporter...

You can then have it show you all the specific locations of the files, which you then simply delete or cut and paste to a different location outside of your mods folders :D

It is a really cool, super simple method to getting rid of unwanted cc :D

I too am struggling to keep the cc down Joy, but it is really very hard for me.
I have obtained so many beautiful deco pieces....I cannot see myself without.

I do delete furniture cc every now and then, especially if I did not use it in quite a while. And with so many new stuff I do tend to have to choose, but I have cc that I will never delete.
When I read that TJ is paying specific attention to poly count, I decided to do the same. If an item has above 7000 out it went.
I was shocked to see that I had quite a number of items with extremely high polys. But they were all chucked out. No regrets.

My Mods folder is 16.7 GB with 11,988 Files and 1,157 Folders because I'm a super organized person.

Anyways, It takes about 5-10 minutes to load!

What!! only 5 to 10 minutes! you are very lucky!
Mine is currently 10GB and it takes about 5 to load.
I do not want it bigger because I don't want to sit and wait for any longer than that for the game to load.
Do you have files merged?

Nope! I have sets in their own folders, idk if that helps. The laptop I use is a gaming laptop and it holds my CC/Mods from TS3 and TS4!

I'm expanding my mods folder everyday! I'm addicted lol

I topped out with unmerged cc at about 29gb, Kelsey...

That was taking about 1.5 hours to load :(

...when Remussims put up his tutorial on how to merge cc with sims4studio, I was in love immediately!!!

If you desire, there are several threads in the Help Center, Tech Edge that will provide you with all the information, how to's, and links you would need :D

That your game, unmerged is only takin 5-10 minutes to load is excellent, by the way :D

My Big Game, 58ish gb, takes about 1.5 hours to load, but my Small Game with 29gb takes about 25 minutes.

My current game load (the one I'm using right now for ICreate and the August BAD) has 8.75gb and loads in under 5 minutes.

Right now, about 98% of the cc in all 3 game loads is merged. Here is a picture of each one's Mods Properties:

I will definitely have to look into that, Suzanne!!

I'm always trying to find more CC so my folder is rapidly expanding.

I believe since my last post, it is now up to 17 or 18 lol.

I'd say my folder is around 9 gig at this point with around 3k items. Last week it was around 8 but ive been binge downloading. My tray folder isnt nearly as big but its probably 2 gig or less, probably 30-50 items, its hard to count since it has 5-8 files each house xD

I'm almost ashamed to admit, my mod folder is at 27,5 GB at the moment. And it is still getting bigger! I just can't stop downloading stuff. There are so many amazing creators with beautiful creations. So it's not my fault xD xD

CherryBerry - as you can see from my post above, somewhere around 29gb's of unmerged cc was about the limit for me and my system...

...that's when I began merging cc. Do you merge?

Dido - do you know about DupeGuru? If not, go to the Help Center, Tech Edge and there is a thread there about it :D
