I don't know, long enough for me to sort dishwasher go wee n make a cupper. I have not got around to mergeding my mods yet, as not finished redownloading after having to wipe the pc. Think the longest it's ever taken in the past was a hour. But I had about 3.000 merged files.

AnitaDakeShade - check out this thread in the Help Center: Help with Mods Folder

If you go down a bit, I've put in a lot of information on folders and subfolders.

I hope this helps <3

anitadakeshade LOL an hour to load your game crazyspin I remember in Sims 2 it took ages to load the game, I would do all my housework, then sit down at my computer, so excited to get into my game and CRASH pc2

Now it takes 5 minutes!

I'm curious to know.....I see you live in Torbay, is that in UK or Australia?

You wont regret it when you have everything sorted.

If I forget to add something to my game, I leave, install what I left out and get back into my game.....round trip of 10 minutes.......I couldn't do that if I had a long load time

What is the total file size of your Mods folder, Tammy?

You stated 3,000 merged files... about how many files in each merge file?

I ask, as that may suggest a way to speed up your load time :)

Tammy, you may want to take a look in Tech Edge for the tutorial there on merging cc files...

...it may help you decide how you would like to organize your files and it is the best place to ask questions about merging :)

...you already know the process for merging, but there are a few other tidbits there, along with other tutorials for renaming files and checking for duplicates.

Right now it's at 54gb, and takes about 17-18 minutes after I merged my files. Without merging it was taking an hour at least. The things we do for addiction lol.

BlackQueen - that is super fast for that much cc! flyer

I don't have too much in-game because I only upload what i am going to need. However, As far as the amount of CC i have stored on external storage (USB memory sticks x3) is a total of approximately 154 GB. Yes, I said it correctly GBs.
Downloading CC curbs my real life shopping addiction. So I don't have to spend any actual $, except for a few patron accounts i have with my favorite artists. Like I always say Sims has all the creatures comforts humans have. The Sims would suck without all of the many talented artists who do what they do. If I had to deal with the "classified" hair I would not be playing.

Nikki, I don't have quite that much on my OneDrive and Dropbox, lol...

...I actually don't collect a lot of CAS cc (hmmm... do you know how much of your cc is CAS vs Build/Buy?)

...I went and checked - I have 406gb stored on my OneDrive! (that is ts4 related) omg

...that is approximately 125gb's worth of cc and the rest of it consists of downloaded lots from others and all my builds with the associated cc and their pictures!

...I have about 35gb of ts4 related files on Dropbox, but most of those folders are duplicates of cc from OneDrive because I have made them available to several people - like BlackCatPhoenix's cc or Steffors.

Yeah... cc is my thing. Collecting it is what I do. Yep. :rofl301:

I was blessed at christmas, my son in law bought me a new desktop, it's an HP Omen, I looooooooove it. I was without one for almost 8 months.
I have 6.48 G.B., 4,589 items, 0 folders. Load time is 2-3 minutes.
I have a lot of stuff I need to weed out.
Can anyone tell me, how do I find out what the hair is called, or the clothes. It doesn't say in cas like in the furniture, etc. I have a shirt that has maybe 10 variations, the only problem is if you click to use it, it is a horrible purple sequined top that you cannot get rid of! For the life of me, I can't find out which one it is in the mods folder.

Hi Pam :D

You may want to take a look at how to use the sims4trayimporter to remove unwanted cc (for that horrible purple sequined top)...

...you can also use it to see which file is what - like for your hairs or clothes.

Here is a link on our site with the thread that discusses it, including a link to a YouTube video showing exactly how to do it: Using the sims4trayimporter to get rid of unwanted cc

Tammy - you can name your merged files anything you'd like!

My only suggestion is to keep the files that are merged in an equivalently named unmerged folder...

So, if you merge files that start with A and end up with A.package that would be fine as long as you have a folder called A with the unmerged items.

The only potential issue there, is if you have more than approximately 300 files that begin with A, B, C, etc...

...reason being, you really don't want to merge more than 300 or so files at a time because the merging process ends up taking a really long time (the more files you are merging).

Does that make sense?

Let me know :D
