I didn't realize how big mine was till it looked at it 18.2GB but load time not long since I merge my packages together in there designated folders. so load time less then 5 mins. I do keep a back up of everything just in case something happens with an update.

szanne, I'm actually in the process of doing that now. It's a pretty big job. I've been so preoccupied with that, I haven't actually played in a while, so I'm not sure how much load time I've managed to save yet, maybe I'll test that today:)

I've been going through my DL folders and organizing stuff. Mostly so I can download more stuff...    I've gone through all my clothes.  I'm going through the hairs now.  It's a nightmare but I'm getting it organized.  I just want to play but I need to do this.  I had a bad piece of CC and I found it pretty quickly using the 50/50 method but it made me realize how much I need to reorganize my folder.

That is a must, Pooka - having a backup of the unmerged cc - I'm really glad to hear that :D

Renivaro - it really does make a difference - especially if you like to have large amounts of cc in your game like I do, lol...

...let me know how it goes <3

May - I know that I need to do the same thing, but with 95+gb's worth of cc it is going to be a true project LOL !!!

I have so much cc, there is a ton that has never even made it into my game and with so much that just doesn't work properly any longer (even with the s4s batch fixes), I think I'll make a run at it over the Summer.

...I'm too backed up until then! <3

something really strange happened after the last update of the game. I have 13.7 GB of cc in 95 folders and it took 10 minutes to start the game. after the update the game takes 5 minutes to start but I have not added or removed anything. I do not know what happened but better like this :)

SMH it's 60gb LOL and my game takes 7 minutes to load, but I merged files and got a better PC, before on my old non-gaming PC and before merging it took about an hour. So glad for my HP Omen and the sweet graphics card 1070 makes my game run sooo much better!

It take may game about 30 minutes to load with all my CC. I need to look for new things to download daily. It's bad. giggle
My files are organized by month and year so I know when it's to clean it up! Right now I have 8 folders with about 400 - 500 items in each.

Misty..I have over 20,000 files lol..and on a good day I can get into the game in the time I smoke a last night for some reason..omgosh..4 cigs..and I cooked hamburger helper and ate dinner before it got loaded..about drove me I don't have my files merged..and use DSL..I hate DSL..but it's the only thing around this town that is cheap..the other is almost $100 just for Internet..

Merge your files and maybe just maybe you might be able to get in, in less than 5 minutes lol..

Time for a Spring Siggi lol

Ezios - extract all package files, first! might also want to use the Bulk Rename Utility (in Tech Edge, there is a post that explains how to do all of this, with links to the (free) applications - if you need more assistance, pm me and we can see about calling on the phone or skyping)...

Merging with sims4studio is very straightforward and unless you are planning on sharing your builds or sims, this is the way to go to keep your game loading fast and playing fast :D

I'm so happy that people are enjoying their games with merged cc - just remember, please, please, please keep backup folders with your unmerged cc. If something needs updating, it makes it a whole lot easier to replace a file and then remerge.

Also, I suggest NOT merging anything that gets changed a lot - and never, ever merge script files. they need to be just the way they are and only place them one folder level down in your Mods folder :D

You are going to be shocked......

I currently only have 1.31GB in my mods folder.
And I am not going to add a lot of cc again, since I tend to not use more than half of what is installed. I am going to try to get away with only the items I really like.

(Let's see how long I will be able to hold out!)
