I used to have that problem a lot, with object workshop disappearing. If I am right, there is a reset button somewhere, perhaps in the file section?
Crissi is right, you are having to learn a whole lot of things all at once, and simpe can be tricky to learn. But you only have to learn it once, so stick with it.
My advice is the same: really look at each step, think it through and follow it exactly. It will work when you practice it.
To make walls and floors, if you use homecrafter, which is easy peasy, they already have wall and floor templates. :girlie5:

I do not know how to get back everything that happened to me once and then I uninstalled everything and started over.
I use this tutorial which I think is very simple (2 pages)
http://modthesims.info/t/95015
Unfortunately, I do not know how to add more templates want some more to choose from.

You are so welcome Sam .. I know exactly how you are feeling .. but I am sure you'll learn it. Like Lisa said it will work when you practice .. and feel free to ask us - we'll try to help you.
And Yes Sam - it had been early in the morning when we've written .. and I had to leave for my job.
Finally NOW my weekend started already .. yippieee .

Marie I don't know how to add templates since I've always worked with those IN the homecrafter. Sorry that I can't give you a helping hand with that .. hmmm

Yay! Well done! I often don't like what ive created in game, and start over!
Some tutorials do seem complicated, until you get used to it. Then you try and get better and better, and the tuts make more sense eventually!
Well done Sam, I'm proud of you inlove34

Ok people..I have been working with this SimPE tutorial..

Recolouring Objects with Object Workshop (NEW tutorial)

Let's see if I can explain what I am having problems with..now everything is working fine until I try and add the new texture to it..I don't understand this part of the whole tutorial..once I get this step correct I will have this tutorial down pat lol

Opps it's the very first line that I am not understanding???

Hi Sam .. for me everything sounds clear ..(no wonder I know - since I know how to recolor..)
Sweetie can you explain more exactly what you can't understand?

"In a matter of seconds, the recolor package is created and opened for you edit" ?

Sam that does just mean - once you reached that step - your recolor package had been created. That means you had already opened a mesh before (I guess that you did that in the former steps) and saved it with your recolor title. THAT is the upcoming and new recolor-file.  Now you can edit that file - add textures, colors ect..and at the end of all you save your edited file and overwrite the once new created recolor package.

Sam I am not sure about the problem. You know that you have to edit the EXPORTED picture of the mesh IN an extern Photoprogramm, like paintshop, Gimp or Photoshop. Once you added YOUR pattern/color to the picture .. you save it first on your computer .. and finally IMPORT it to SimPe.
I have never used the DDS Builder .. so I have no idea about that...

Hi Sam .. yes thats nearly correct. You just need to follow the tutorial.. exactly step by step ..
I am sure you'll understand it. You've posted a part of the Tutorial 3 posts before .. and thats the
step you have to work on now. They explain it really good .. much better than I can .. with my horrible technical english.

Sam I finally found another Tutorial .. may be its easier .. since there are more pictures to take a look.
Its a step by step tutorial to recolor a rug:

Thank you all for all your help and support I am so thankful for having such dear, dear BFF's

Very cool, Sam!

You stuck with, continued to ask questions, and look what you did! :D :D :D

Like Crissi and Lisa said (with Marie's help for that reset thingie), once you have learned the steps, you don't have to learn it again...

...you just do it over and over :D

I imagine that it just gets easier as you continue to do it.

This is something that I plan on learning how to do at some point this year... your journey has definitely motivated me <3

A great job.
It's getting easier and easier now I do not even need to read the user manual anymore.
Now I'm going to learn how to make wallpaper (which does not work well).
