Tilly - Great decision on the black labs over blondes! Especially since you wear a lot of black! I had a black lab before too, and they do still shed, and unfortunately for me at that time, I wore white scrubs! LOL

Lucy is Wonderful!

...and, my goodness, I know what you mean by white furballs everywhere, all the time! rofl301

...Lilly NEVER stops shedding and Summer just brings an onslaught of hair - not necessarily in single or double pieces of hair, either...

...we're talking CLUMPS of hair that just pull out!!! ohno :Spring3 laughloud doggy2 ROFL runcircle

Labs are definitely the most popular dogs here, they have such wonderful natures. I live in the country so there are many as working dogs, for hunting/shooting game. I hate that. Fortunately hunting with a pack of hounds has been banned, but it still goes on. My pups will just be my fur babies.....

Lucy is a very nice dog.
Zack is a mixed breed (New foundland / schäfer and border collie) he has inherited that thick coat that New Foundland has so every spring we usually cut him but you still find big hairbags a little everywhere. The daughter has a Jack Russel who folds a lot of fur sometimes.

Thank you Crissi for the beautiful signature

Marie - I was going to ask if Zack was a New Foundland! I used to have one too, she was HUGE but sooooo sweet tho. We called her the "Gentle Giant". We lived on a 300 acre farm and she'd go out wandering around thru the fields and all you'd see was her big plumey tail swishing back and forth thru the corn fields. She never had any puppies herself, but she was a great surrogate mama to 2 of my new puppies and taught them everything they needed to know and had the patience of a saint, allowing them to bite at her, pull her hair out, and hang on for rides when she'd walk. Her name was Jazzie, but unfortunately she passed away awhile ago.

I love reading about Jazzie, TJ :D

I love all dogs, but have a really tender place in my heart for the giant breeds <3

I grew up with Great Danes (and other types, lol) and my brother has three of them today!

skanning wrote:Yup -- she is beautiful...and now we have a groomer...and fancy dogfood....and lots of white hair balls that roll across our hardwood floors giggle  So, now we have a new sweeper...  It's like having a new baby - it changes the entire household.  The Jack Russell and the lab are not amused bored  Well, like introducing a new sister to the family, they've adjusted.

LOL so well said skanning, I can actually see the look on their faces!
We made peace with the hairballs on the wood floors long ago..... giggle at least I did, my hubby do complain form time to time!

Lisa, this is good news!! Did you decide on names for the two of them already? I can just imagine the excitement about having them...... the playing around and running and chewing..... it reminds me of my coffee table being chewed on the corner by my son's German Shepard when he was still a puppy. Still have the table in my living room..... precious moments!!

You will, Krista, and I can't wait to see it :D

Ah, yes - all the wonderful moments puppies and kitties and even birds and fish give us!

I hope they know how much we love them!!! <3

I sooo agree Suzanne! I know I'll never be without a furbaby. Although, I've also decided that I will never have another "shedder" tho! lmao ... I told my daughter my next one will not shed, or shed very little (which will prove challenging, since I prefer larger dogs ... I don't really care for lap dogs, they seem too fragile and and I don't want to kill it by accidentally rolling over on it when I'm sleeping! LOL)

Yes Anita, we have chosen names, lol.
For the boy, we are going to call him Digger. We struggled finding a name, and looked through Milos pedigree certificate and one of his ancestors was called Digger. We quite liked that!
For the girl, we chose Inca.
Ill post pictures once we get them home, lol

Ohhhh Tilly! That is soooo exciting! I bet you can't wait! And, I love both of those names! I hope that Digger doesn't own up to his name and become a "digger" in your flower beds or any place else! LOL

TJ - you might look into these breeds:

Big Dogs That Don't Shed

I love the names you've picked for your new puppies, Lisa! Inca and Digger are very cool...

...and like TJ said, I hope Digger just digs life and not dirt! hehehehe

Angel - that is a lovely picture of you and your hubbie - you could get your friend to help you post a larger one in Family Time, then we can see you both better :D <3

There aren't too many breeds that don't shed...

...but there are some great dogs in this group! <3
