I had no idea about Sims at all. My husband bought me a Game Boy, and one of the games on there was a version of Sims 2. It was an advertising thing I guess. I remember liking the idea, but didn't think it was good on a game boy. I was crazy about Super Mario at the time! So when I got a new laptop, my hubby said "why don't you get Sims 2?" I did go and buy it, and was completely hooked. I think my husband seriously regrets the day he suggested I bought sims 2. But that was years ago. I remember being addicted to building and decorating right from the beginning. Then I discovered MTS2 and Insimenator. A serious addiction was born!

LOL Tilly I was a HUGE Super Mario fan!

I loved MTS2, especially when every Friday, Nengi had a new house. I loved her Factory Series, she was amazing. Then there was Jonesi.....I adored her and her beautiful builds. I think it was Jonesi that led me astray with all her download links.....a lot were to Insimenator and Black Sims Zoo. They were such exciting days!

I was up one night watching some very boring show on tv whilst waiting for some friends to arrive. My son was swinging from the chandelier and I was going stir crazy watching him. When my friends arrived, one of them about went into hysterics because she was having issues with her Sims game. Of course, after giving her wine to calm her down, I was curious. She pulled up an article regarding the Sims and all that you could do and instantly I became fascinated by it. That was 2000. I have been playing it ever since. My name is Tootie...and I am a SIMSaholic.....and I absolutely love it...haha. No 12 step program for me...I'm doomed!~!

Welcome Tootie!
Lorry, wasn't Super Mario fab, I loved it! Now there's a thought....better not buy it as you really cant put it down! I remember discovering Jonesi after finding my way to Refelxsims. Her charm window has been my all time favorite for sims 2. Nothing ever beat that window for me, lol. I think it found its way into almost every sims 2 build, lol. Then I became a cavescout over at Simscave, and woohoo, it was my job to hunt for cc and do update threads. Perfect food for my obsession!

It's Games Night here tonight....my eldest is here for work from Melbourne, so it's a chance to catch up with family. They will play Mario Cart!! There will be a lot of noise and laughter........and a few beers and wine!

Oh my gosh it was through Jonesi that I found Reflexsims......I bought everything! Then someone directed me, probably from Simscave, to MATY......thought I'd died and gone to heaven!
Were you Tilly at Simscave?
LOL I remember I was so scared of getting caught visiting Simscave, coz there was that 'files sharing' thing going on.....when I admitted to Jonesi that I had visited there, I was relieved to know that she didn't care at all......lol I think she was a regular there.....hence the name Black Pearl Sims!!

Ohhh Tilly you know my latest idea for a new thread.....Fashionista Sims!
I have so many beautiful clothes, but my Sims never get to wear them, so I think we need fashion thread.
You can make a Sim and then show her/him there aha

Now Lorry, I think that is a good idea...... you are more than welcome to create a thread for that in the I-Create section.
I agree with you, I have some sims that I could show off too!

So please go right ahead and start the mini-challenge for that!

Talking about the different forums.... it took me a long long while to discover custom content mainly because I was way too scared of the internet. It was only when Stefan insisted on having internet when he was in High School so he could communicate with other players that I gave in.....phew!!! Wish I had done it sooner.

If you tell me now the internet is down I am immediately in sack and ash!!!

Anita I was thinking of doing it as a thread......'What is your Sim wearing today', something like that........so each day our Sim can visit here and show us what they are wearing......what do you think?

I don't have a strong recollection because my discovery was in passing. Went over a friends house and his roommate was playing the Sims. I remember seeing it and thinking what a weird ugly little game. The roommate then explained it to me and the idea was just so novel at the time that I went and got the game. Then some time later I discovered CC could be found online made by other players and I was lost. One site (I think was for S2) Was something like 'Sister 2 Sister'. I remember going to them for clothes and thinking how amazing they were because they managed to make clothes that sparkled, lol

Yes Lorry, I was Tilly over at Simscave too. I liked Simscave, as I'm a bit of a rebel at heart. But I didn't get very involved, I just scouted for cc and wrote the updates for sims 2.
That idea for a thread sounds fabulous, it might inspire me to actually create a Sim!

A fashion thread would be fun! I swear my Sims change their clothes more then I do.  giggle3 I took all my cc out of my game to see if that would help with any of the issues I'm having. I decided to build a Sim and I had forgotten how much of the clothing I forgot existed in TS2 because I had to go through dozens and dozens of pages and never even make a dent in my cc clothes.

Lorry it is a brilliant idea! Would you start the thread in the I-Create section..... just to keep things organized so everyone knows where to go with their sims
I already have a sim I would showcase!

Melisa - I don't know if you know of the new 2sis, but they are a collaboration of Milla and LunaticVillage.

(your comment about S2S reminded me of them :D )

They create sets for ts4 and ts3 and wonderful patterns/textures for ts3.

They may be found here: Click Here

Don't forget to sign up for email notifications when they have new sets! <3

I'll try, lol...

...but, considering how long it takes me to build, I have no clue how long it would take me to make sims, LOL rofl301

Thank you for sharing the link. I have them saved now. I also had to msg them, lol. Love to see there are still some creators around from back in the day :)

My husband at the time told me about The Sims when he was still living in Sweden and once I played his game I became an instant fan.
