I'm the same. At this point I'm downloading CC more than playing... it's an obsession but I think I became this way because most creators leave the community after a while and they delete their content...
So, it's more like having this fear of finding something but not being able to find it. So, instead I download the best cc before it's deleted kinda thing!

I have 25GB of CC and every day I look for new things. I'm addicted! I hardly use the game objects.
Also, I have a folder with halloween, christmas and poses that I only add in my game when I'm going to use it.

@Rareh2 and @Miabee....yep, I'm right there with you.  cherry   And that "motherlode your life together" is a keeper! summerB6

Edit: @ violalesx I think that's a lot of what's behind my own obsession with cc....I might need it someday and I won't be able to find it! giggle

I'm feeling vexed by all of your Gb. shame
I'm currently at 4.2 Gb because I constantly forget to backup my folder before CC shopping, have trouble with downloaded CC & end up having to start from scratch.

I have a lot of downloaded CC I keep on outside storage but only a small fraction of what I have downloaded is what I have in my game. I've noticed I'll go through periods of decorating a certain way then my tastes change to something else so I'll go through my CC and store the rest.

@a.ist.min

Try to keep your new cc (that hasn't been yet brought up in your game with no problems) in a separate file in mods. I simply call mine "Testing S4" . That way, if there's a new problem it's either in the testing file or a conflict between something in the testing file and a file already in your game. At any rate it sure beats testing your way through 18,000 d/l files (and that counts 800 folders as just "1" item per folder). whistle See, a while ago I said I was hopeless! cherry

I also add new CC to a folder that is called "1-New" in my mods folder. The 1 in front, so it shows up all the was on top.

Then after they work in the game, I put them into their folders. I have everything sorted by creators and setname.

Sometimes, when I have downloaded a bunch of stuff, I take all of my mods out of the game and put in only the new ones. I have an empty testing house. I go there look at all the new stuff and decide what I want to keep and what I want to throw out. Then after I have sorted and tested the new ones, I put my "old" cc files back into the game.

I have a folder outside of the game also, where I keep things that I like but can not/do not want to use atm, but might need/want for another house or at a later time.

I have around 21GB -- there is never enough-- especially in certain design styles-- for example I have a ton of modern and industrial content but no one is making a lot of shabby chic, post apocalyptic, goth, or grunge content (I have most of what there is)..luckily I know how to make recolors and am teaching myself how to mesh so I can make my own if I can't find it anywhere

That is really cool, Dee...

...I'm beginning to think I'm just going to have to dive in on the recolor/conversion bit.

...hopefully, my fear of not building is just that a fear and not real :D

I'm always on the hunt for good curtains. I decorate a room, and just can't seem to find the right curtains I want for my theme. I wish I knew how to mesh :)

Thanks so much Broomhilda! I may try that, as soon as I get more time on the computer -- it's pretty limited these days, what with helping take care of the grandchildren claphands1

Omg I can relate! I almost feel like I can't make the most out of the game and enjoy playing it if I know that there might be some CC I have missed. Though it's a periodical addiction XD, and once I have started to download some CC I enter that phase when I spend hours upon hours serching for object etc. shame

I have not build a house myself for weeks. I keep downloading houses, looking through them, sorting cc. For days.
I start building and I am missing something. Like some bricks for the outside of the house, or some Garagedoors. And I come back with entire houses. Not one. Several.

I remember telling my children: "No. I am not buying another set. You have so much already, and you have not even played with the ones you have. You do not need another right now. Play with what you have got. You have a room full. "

Yes well................ :-D

@Miabee

Yes, BUT you're not cluttering up anything but your Sims mod file.  Children get too much stuff and it ends up on the floor broken from being stepped on or gathering dust in a corner.  At least our cc doesn't collect dust....but broken....well, that's another story giggle

Brigitte - not to worry - cc doesn't compare to children's toys...

...consider it an archive for posterity <3

Now, that's a pause for thought.  I'll try that on the family...while they're pondering that one, I'll change the subject giggle
