I am addicted to "Oven Vegetable". Its sooo easy to prepare and extremely yummy ..lol

You can use the vegetables you like most, cut them into bite-size pieces, mix everything
with Olive-Oil and spice them with Salt, Pepper and herbs you like. It taste fantastic when
you add some Sheeps (milk)-cheese.
And now put it into your Oven and cook it 30 to 45 Minutes by using a temperature around 180 Degrees Celcius/356 Fahrenheit.

Bon Appetit

Believe me - that is sooo yummy .. and very very quick and easy to prepare ..
you need to test the vegetables you like ..just note that veggies like cauliflower and broccoli don't need as long as p.E. the potatoes or carots ect.. I add this kind of veggies sometime later to it.

@Rhisa: I forgot to ask you - how do you prepare sweet potatoes with onion and apples?
I love sweet potatoes!! I am interested how you prepare that combi?

Crissi - It's very easy to make.

You peel the potatoes and cut them into small square pieces, and boil them for like 10 minutes or so.

In the mean time you cut the onion, and you cut the apple also in square pieces and put them in wokpan with a bit olive oil and bake them

When the potatoes are done, you add them in the wokpan with the apple and onion.
and mix them for a minute or so.

That's it :)

Easy, quick and healthy. And in my opinion very tasty!

I use 2 big sweet potatoes, 1 apple and 1 big onion for 1 person.

Crissi I am going to show your dish to Sam! It looks so yummy

That is exactly what we would eat, although I would take out the cheese.

Rhisa thank you for your recipe too......I love sweet potato. I am always looking for dishes that don't have meat of any kind.

Last night we had homemade pumpkin soup with sourdough, and it was TDF.

Oh, I love these!

Rhisa, would you write up your Quinoa with Chicken recipe, as well?

Criss - I do "Oven Shish Kabob" --- it is the same premise, except I actually use metal skewers, just as one would doing it on a barbeque. I smother it with Teriyaki Sauce and bake at Broil until the meat is cooked to taste.

Broiling in an oven is weird... I was so used to gas ovens/stoves when growing up...

...these days, most of the places I live in only have electric - thus, broiling in an oven! LOL

Half Filipino, mums a Filipino caterer, so always food in the house (probably why I'm the size of a house ohno ), my fav dish she always cooks is chicken adobo:

Ingredients
2 lbs. chicken, cut into serving pieces
3 pieces dried bay leaves
4 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp vinegar
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 to 2 cups water
¼ cup cooking oil
½ tablespoon white sugar
Salt and whole peppercorn

Instructions:
1. In a large container, combine the soy sauce and garlic then marinade the chicken for at least 1 to 3 hours
2. Place the cooking oil in a pan and apply heat
3. When the oil is hot enough, put-in the marinated chicken. Cook all the sides for about 5 minutes.
4. Pour-in the remaining marinade and add water. Bring to a boil
5. Add the dried bay leaves and whole peppercorn. Simmer for 30 minutes or until the chicken is tender
6. Add vinegar. Stir and cook for 10 minutes.
7. Put-in the sugar, and salt. Stir and turn the heat off. Serve hot

LOL Anita!
I wasn't fond of cooking either but lately I start to enjoy it as I try new things and it actually tastes good when I make it giggle

Suzanne - Here's my recipe for the Quinoa with chicken, cut green beans and peanut sauce.

(for 1 person)

75 gr. Quinoa
300 gr. chicken fillet. (or chicken breast, I don't really know how you call it in english)
400 gr. cut green beans
1 red onion
Peanut sauce

you cook the quinoa and beans as it says on the package.

You cut the chicken fillet into small pieces and bake them in a wokpan ( or just buy a package of chicken fillet that's already been cut like I do ;) )
cut a red onion and bake it with the chicken.
When the beans are done you mix them in the pan with the chicken and onion.

recipe for the peanut sauce :

100ml. water

60 gr. peanut butter

1 clove garlic, crushed

and a dash of soy sauce.

cook the water with the peanutbutter
when it starts to boil you add the garlic and soy sauce
and let it simmer until it has the desired thickness.

that's it.

tilly wrote:Cooking Hubbies, ha ha.
My hubby used to cook, as long as it was a Jamie Oliver recipe, which he would follow to the letter. (I just throw things together, lol)
He has given up now, as he is a meat eater and says he cant do vegetarian food. Hmmmm.
He does make a very good roast dinner though......I just substitute the meat for veggie sausages or a nut roast, lol. And he cant make Yorkshire puddings..nope, I still have to do those!

Oh Tilly, I love Jamie Oliver cook books I have them all, although the one I use the most is 30 minute dinners our favourite recipe from that is Cauli, Mac and cheese. We eat all sorts of things I like trying recipes from other countries to. Every time we go on holiday abroad I always come back with a new meal based on where we've been. LOL SummerB2

As for Yorkshire puddings well I'm ashamed to admit my recipe comes from Aunt Bessie LOL. shame

My favourite dish is shepherds pie it's also my son's favourite, although he also loves what we call Sheldon's Pasta.  thlol  We love Big Bang Theory and Sheldon often mentions spaghetti with little hotdog sausages, as I work late on a Thursday we usually have pasta because it's quick and invariably this is what we have, Pasta spaghetti, with tomato pasta sauce and chopped up hotdogs.

Tonight we are having venison steaks as they are going out of date soon they have been in the freezer along time. Tomorrow being Sunday we will have full roast, chicken this week with aunt Bessie yorkie's chuckling

P3nguin - Oh, I can't wait to try that! It sounds delicious - YUM!!!

Rhisa - thank you so much for putting up the Quinoa and Chicken recipe - love the picture!

Crissi - Cool! The greatest thing? If you can Shish Kabob it on a barbeque, you can do it in the oven, lol. Also, I'm not fond of too much (if any) char and this totally prevents that! hehehe

Nikki - Would you mind putting up the Cauli Mac & Cheese? I'd love to try that, too :D

Reaseda - Grilling with friends is such a wonderful thing to do - I hope to do more of that next Summer <3

Oh I love stir fried foods..

Rhisa I am going to have to try that recipe out..but can we use something other than the peanut sauce..

I don't like cooking anymore other than out of a can or box lol..and only cook once a week for the whole week..but some of these recipes look simple and easy and quick to make..

I'm not that fond of complicated recipes either or recipes that take alot of work Samantha :) And I always throw everything in a wokpan and mix it lol
If you cook for a whole week, do you eat the same thing for a whole week? or do you cook different things?

I haven't tried the quinoa with chicken without peanout sauce or with other sauce, but I'm sure you could use something else too.
I don't really have a "feeling" for cooking so I don't know what else will go with it, maybe somebody else here has an idea?

Crissy - you're welcome! I hope you find them just as tasty as i do.
Let me know once you've tried them!

The recipe of the sweet potatoes came from my mom, she found it in a magazine
At first I thought it would be a little boring, until I tasted it...I was like omg this is really good! lol

Suzanne - You're welcome!
