Beautiful entry Lorry, that formidable skyline against the yellow is such a great com bination. I need your cost effective place settings, did you acquire them at a yard sale? LOL Mine cost almost your full amount for one setting! Great job! :goldstars:

Debbie - What an awesome makeover! I love gray and yellow together! It's so fresh and inviting! You did wonderful blending both design styles too! I love those patterned blinds and that tall armoir is fantastic!

I'm sooo glad we don't vote on these little mini-challenges! LOL

Lorry, my dear, you've done it again! The skyline really does give the whole room that extra bit of something. The woods, the brick, the yellow: all perfectly selected.

Debbie: you've done a marvelous job with one of my favorite colour coboinations; gray and yellow! This doesn't look it was designed on a dime at all.

I'm with TJ. Glad we don't in the minis!

Thank you TJ, your yellow plates would have looked so good on my table.

Thank you Alouette, I just love these challenges because I get bored with the game after a while and need something to inspire me, only problem with mixing game play with decorating is that the decorated spaces aren't always playable, but hey, my sims have to have the best looking house on the block don't you know? :chuckling:

You have done wonders too, Debbie! I too am a huge fan of mixing grey with other colors!! Your dining room indeed gives the impression of having used a million bucks!
It is also very inspiring.
Both you and Lorry (and Suzanne.....though she did not yet ad an entry here) use the most amazing cc!!!
I see a few wcif's here as well!

I am glad one does not have to vote too...... having less pressure brings out the best in all of you!

Meet Mary Potts.

Meet John Potts

Melisa Dickinson has just arrived to begin decorating.

Table 788.00, Chairs 880.00, Art 38.00, Curtains 264.00, Rug 48.00 Fireplace 200.00

Mats 32.00, Bowl of Peaches 6.00, Plants 145.00, Shelves 171.00, Light 124.00

Sculptures 39.00, Fishbowl 13.00, Books 28.00, Piano 563.00, Cat Priceless.

There are quite a bit of decor that was 0.00. Everything is as downloaded. I got pricing wrong somewhere. I know I only spent 3k because I set my money to 3k so I would not go over. Print is a bit small to read for me so I'm sure I wrote one down wrong.The Dining Room is located in the house I am making for the Lake House Challenge. If all goes well it will all be uploaded by tomorrow.

Hope I got the styling right and more than anything I hope you enjoy :)

Edit: Realized what I did. I had deleted a window and replaced it with a more expensive fireplace. Since both were room objects we did not have to include in the budget I did come in under budget, lol.

Lorry - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your Dining Room!

The juxtaposition of that Cityscape with the Curtains fuzzing the outdoors right outside is breathtaking!

You very successfully blended together traditional and modern - WOW!!!

(Brown windows and doors into the dining room - wcif, pretty please?)

I cannot wait to do this! I was talking with TJ about it, then you - and I couldn't help myself - I had to look! <3

A cat (otherwise known by me as Sam, lol) looks to be having a grand time investigating <3

~~~~~~~
Debbie - I love how you've used the accent color with your decor items - And those SHADES! Oh, my, those are spectacular! (wcif, pretty please? lol)
The dining table anchors the rooms and the Bonn chairs in conjunction with the armchairs and the bench sweeten up the modernness with a flair of fantasy :D
I love the art wall with the frames circling the mirror - with the synchronicity of the plants on their stands it totally gives the room a traditional feel.
You nailed it!
~~~~~~~

Melisa, you have such an eclectic style going on in this room and it does blend traditional with modern - the pictures, rug, plants, and piano give me a traditional vibe, while your selection of decor screams modern!

I also really like how you balanced the yellow brick accent wall with the chairs - very, very cool :D

That cat gets around! Most assuredly priceless <3

~~~~~~~
I really like your room, Anneke - and I really like that you've used so much of your recolored cc!
I like the TV tray :D
The urban walls contrast with the luxuriousness of your sofa, side tables, rug, pillows, and all that lovely decor.
I especially like the yellow curtains that pulled my view to that truly fantastic view!
<3
~~~~~~~

I'll work on mine in between Scandinavian house builds :D

Thank you, Crissi, for my beautiful signature <3

Melisa - I love your room! And it fits you perfectly, I see your style all over it! I too love the little pops of color like the pink shades and it's a perfect blend of old and modern with your piano and fireplace. I really like the flamenco dancer pics as well! It was one of the first things my eyes were drawn to!

Poppy - Your room, once again, has that perfect, funky blend of colors and textures that you put together so beautifully! It reminds me of a lot of yard sale and thrift store bargains you blended into a fabulously cohesive design!

I haven't gotten around to working on mine yet, my weekend was busy with no time for playing   wahhhh! crying
