This is an old time kitchen set for S2 (uploaded in 2005) by Arenaria over on TSR.  She's evidently retired; I could not find a TOU.  I cannot tell you how many times I used this set in S2.  Lately I've become so disenchanted with S4 that I've started loading up the downloads file again for my S2 Ultimate game which, so far, only my grand-daughter has played.  That's how I found it again and want it in my S4 game now.  Please  doggyhug

Skanning, if no one else offers to do this, and if we do not in the mean time see tath we cannot offer her stuff, I will convert these for you.
I actually like the set as well.

Anita - You're just soooo awesome! I'm so glad you offered to do this! I was afraid this might be out of my league to tackle. But, I'm looking forward to having it in my game! (And doing some recolors of it too! LOL)

Thank you so much Crissi for my beautiful signature! *hugs*

Ah thank you TJ..... if I may borrow your words..... it tickles me pink to hear this.
But I do honestly appreciate and love you for it!!

Sam, thank you dear for feeling the same way. You are all very close to my heart!

TJ: I had a look at the original meshes..... they are all very simple and built to the requirements of the sims 2 and the interactions for the sims 2.
That is not a problem when converting.

But the sims 4 counters has more than one subset..... like in up to 10 of them to allow the counter's different shapes in the game.
The mesh that needs to be converted has only one.

I would not be able to convert it as a counter....... since the sims 4 sims does not interact with the counter in the same sims 2 did..... I would therefore have to find a mesh to clone that would be more accommodating than a counter. The sink would not be placeable if I don't use a counter.
Since the original set has a counter with the sink in it already, I don't think this will be a problem.

I would appreciate your input on this.

(I have never made counters, but after perusing these tonight I think I have to make a set..... just to see if I can...)

Anita - take a look at Veranka's kitchens...

She notes that they are not useable with AutoCounters... each counter is a separate piece.

I hope that helps, somewhat, lol.

I'm just happy you are exploring doing these - even if they don't materialize <3

Anita - I was going to suggest the exact same thing that Suzanne did. I've seen several creators state that "auto counters" must be turned off to use their counters. So, I think if you state that on your download, people will be fine with that. I don't mind, I'm pretty old school. LOL

Darlene, just a little update.....
I am working on the counters.
But I decided I wanted them to be "working" in the game...
Meaning that they should function as counters and therefore need to be
able to have auto counters as well.
That means the original mesh needs to be modified to enable that.

I have been struggling with that..... not to make the counters auto per se,
but to get the meshes to adapt to that.
Every creator has his /her own way of putting a mesh together.
I have an idea that the original creator used a model for the counters,
for the mesh parts, are not all separate, which makes it difficult to work with.

I am going to stand back from this for a while, maybe my mind will work better when I
try this again within a few days.

I am sorry for keeping you waiting, Darlene, but I don't want to upload something when it is not going to look good in the game.

You're amazing for even trying this.  I cannot relate to the problems because about the only techie thing I can do is yell, "JOHN!!" (lol that's my husband...and does NOT represent potty humor!)  giggle  No apologies are ever necessary.  EVER.  I'm just delighted you're willing to give it a try. flirty

@anidup

OrangeMittens has a sink that's similar to the one in this set. It comes with various "curtains" but might to usable in converting this set....maybe lol At any rate...here's the link:

Skanning, I am so sorry for taking so long to convert this set for you. shame
I decided that I would prefer the counters to be counters, if you know what I mean.
I still have to work on the basin mesh..... not sure if it works with geostates, but if it does, I will have to use the Sims' Workshop, and I have not worked with that before.
I promise to get this set done for you soon.

Oh, for heaven's sakes...please don't let this be a worry.  The holidays are coming big time!  We all have demands on our time that have nothing to do with the sims.  Sit this baby on the shelf for someday when you have time and are inspired.  If that never happens, so be it!  We all know you've paid serious attention and consideration.  Sometimes, well, you just have to let go.  But, I hope you don't!  smile201

Anita - you are such a wonderful, kind, compassionate human being...

...we all love you!

I agree with Darlene - just the fact that you are even willing to take a look at doing some of the things we ask is enough.

...that you actually end up doing them? Totally Fantastic! <3

Girls, thank you for being so supportive. But I have been walking with this in my mind and how to get it work AND be nice at the same time!
Now I have read about the changes Pets are going to bring about especially to counters!
So I am going to wait until that comes out before I clone a base game counter and start with this again.
I think I now know how to get the set to be perfect.

Skanning..... your patience will be rewarded, my dear.

OOOoooo!

The upcoming new game and patch really do have many people on edge (I read a lot about this on Tumblr...) - sigh, hopefully, s4s creates any necessary fixes as soon as humanly possible!
