Hello everyone. This is my first thread and I would like to start it off with an interesting discussion.
So I know that often when I'm creating a story or a theme of to which I'd like to play on a save that I often go with a specific style.
I always feel most comfortable with young adult females, preferably dark hair light eyes.
I tend to try to stay away from males I find their features hard to figure especial when I like them Somerhalder handsome.
I also find that I have the biggest soft spot for toddlers I seem to take the longest on them.
So with this all being said, is there a style or feature/hairstyle/gender/age etc, you often turn to when creating. :thy:

What a great topic! And welcome to the family!

I don't play too often, I normally am decorating or creating.

But, I always make a sim to put on my lot when I'm not "playing" just so they can control the lights and test out any conversions I've done. I have one sim that I made to control the lights and I just adore her, she's all EA content and cute as a button (except for the hideous painted on eyelashes that EA thought was a good idea, I hate those things!) I have played a little with her, her personality is cute and fun to watch too. She's a sassy, short haired red head who loves to sing, but can't carry a tune in a bucket! But she has fun doing it! I always create an EA content sim for creating, because I never have any CC in my game when I test things, and I don't really like seeing bald sims when I load the game because all the CC they were wearing disappeared off them since it's not in my mods folder. lmao

I always go for young adult, usually blonde, occasionally red heads, always with either light blue, gray, or green eyes. I've never made a toddler before but once I took a game random toddler and added a parent to the family just so I could test out what they were like. They're pretty cute, and I've never ever played with any type of kids before in any of the sims games. So, I gotta say that the TS4 ones are probably the best in my opinion from the comparison videos on toddlers I've seen on youtube.

But, when I'm decorating a house, I always create a single sim or couple full of CC for it and make a story up in my mind with grand ideas about playing them and getting poses to make a story to share. But that never seems to happen because I end up finding something I want to create and I abandon the house, the sims, and the story then I forget my original idea and start a new one later on! LOL

Thank you so much Crissi for my beautiful signature! *hugs*

I like to start off with either a single female (young adult) or a couple.
I don't have a preference for hair colour, although the only female Sim I made that I liked, is a platinum blonde with blue eyes. I did just download an amazing brown eyed brunette female, who I hope to take a look at in game tonight!

My male Sims will always have dark hair, not worried about eye colour.

While babies are rather boring, I love it when the Sim is pregnant.

I have only tested toddlers when the pack was first released, and they are incredibly cute. Still looking forward to playing a family, it's just finding the time to do it bored

Nowadays I decorate only, but when I was playing, I usually started with a female sims. They always had long hair (downloaded hair) blonde or brown hair and mostly green eyes. Clothing was given after what year it was. I changed clothes when the seasons was changed. I had a sim in the 8th generation in a family and I only loved her when she was so cute, I actually had a sim in a family that I did not like if I do not know why but I thought he was so boring. Poor guy. giggle

Cool topic, Raven :D

I don't generally make or play sims... but when I do, I almost always create a young adult female.

Hair color varies but eyes are generally light of every color.

I also make sims upon occasion... also young adult. They vary quite a bit :D

Chicklet: Those painted eyelashes are the ultimate worst, but if you don't download the cc lashes then you get the eyes without the lashes that end up looking like alien bug eyes haha

LORRY: I totally know what you mean honestly some times a spend days designing or messing around with the houses in the neighborhood i never even get to the playing part or I'm cc hunting for one thing and it turns into like 50 things haha

Tahoe: You definitely sound like me! As far as choices, and like i was saying to Lorry I end up downloading cc or fixing houses in the neighbor hood or for my family that by the time I get to the family play I come up with a new story line to play haha. Then It starts all over again.

Szanne7000: Thank you! and I tend to veer toward young adults and teens ever since I downloaded this school mod someone made where you can actually go to school with your kids and teens. Do to it being Halloween season and my favorite time of the year so now I'm preparing for a witchy cottage that I have been slowly finding cc for.

Raven, you have a great topic going here!

I like diversity! I live in South Africa, we are called the Rainbow Nation for very good reason.
So in my game(s) I repeat this. But when I start out with a family, it is with a young adult female. I run through the mix EA has available for all my new sims, and when I find one that appeals to me, the tweaking starts. I use all hair colors, and any eye color. When I create a redhead female, she will have either blue or green eyes. Never brown. But with the other.....any color that compliments their faces goes!

I am very vein! My game is full of pretty people. I allow the townies to be the ugly ones around. When satisfied, I move them onto a lot, and then I play with them a little to get a feel of how they are developing their characters. Then I get a home, move him/her/them in and start decorating.

I have a hard time with guys too lol. And I feel like there are not enough customization with kids. So young adult and toddlers is usually what I take the longest making :)

Iagree2 I also always start with a young female, usually with white or crazy hair and grunge/goth style. Almost always, I give her artsy/rebellious traits. With those being set, her life can start and every time it ends up differently depending on the story I've made up in my head giggle :multistars:

I usually start with a young adult female around my own age (24-26) but I also like to portray my sims lives around their 30s, I think that's a good place, a person can be either stable, or transitional, and I'm just interested in their everyday normal lives. For the look, I always seem to go for the same thing. Dark raven hair and green eyes. I call it my Harry Potter aesthetic lol

I usually make young adults. I rarely ever make a teen.adult, or elder sim. I usually like to make families and play until they become an elder and have grandkids and such.

I made quite a few sims for sims 2. Mostly they were young adults, both male and female. Male sims always had dark hair and blue eyes! Female sims were mostly brown hair or red hair for some reason. I always found my game crashed when I downloaded body shop stuff, so I stopped creating sims. With sims 4, I made one sim. Short red hair and green eyes. I liked her a lot, but then my game crashed. So I took out all the body shop stuff and haven't had a problem since! I've given up on sims! I mostly build and decorate and rarely play the actual game, lol

I never thought about this because I usually play families but I think the first sim I create are the female head of household. This is usually an adult or an elder. My grandparents were very important to me growing up so I always have elders in my game and am often frustrated by the lack of clothing choices and or/respect they receive in the community. I think I just saw a mod last night that keeps elders off certain lots. I think this is because most simmers like to play with young adults. I actually play young adults the least. I do have a lot of teens in my game and I adore toddlers. I do tend to make female sims more just because they seem to have more clothing and dress-up options.

I have an equal amount of male, female, ya's adults and elders in my game.
It usually progresses as the lives of the sims goes on. I play the elders until they die, and feel sad with the rest of the family for the loss.
Especially if I had the sims since baby stage.
I start with a couple usually but from there on they must live their lives like ordinary people.
If they do not find a partner, then that is too bad.

I like to have a few of each age so they could have proper friends. So I have a number of playable families in my 'hoods.

At the beginning of game I always create a young adult female with dark skin and black or white hair and blue eyes.. She living alone but later she has a family: husband and two children - they often look like parents :)

I feel like young adult females are the most common that I've seen. But if males were easier I think I'd like to play as them more

I tend to make more females than males as well, adult in TS2 and young adult in TS3. Mainly both genders have black or red hair, and usually brown or blue eyes. At the moment I'm playing the pre-made families in Pleasantview but have thrown a few of my own Sims in to mix up the gene pool!

Hi there!
I make more females than male sims and usually I make them young adults.
I really like to dress them in a urban style!

I think if I played them instead of using the for pictures or testing, I'd create some families...

...when my latest, Abby, was testing my lot I was really intrigued watching her do yoga - I think I'd like to see more of what a sim does in the game <3

My preferred age is teens and young adults. My preferred gender is female because I know how to make them look nice. My males always turn out ugly. I dont really have a preferred style...Whatever comes to mind at the moment is how to make the sims

Mariam, head over to the introduction section and make a hello topic there! We'll all come say hello. danceG

This is a great topic. I don't often play Sims but I like to make a Sim and come up with a personality and background for the Sim. I found I usually play with a mid-20s Sim female with dark or red hair with green or blue eyes. Body type will vary depending on how I am feeling. I don't spend much time on make up but I love to play dress up. Some times I'll add a teenager or preteen so my Sim has a child but I don't have to raise the Sim from a baby. giggle
