I have both Sam but I can't remember which one has the better HGTV type shows. I'll have to look again. I have not watched TV in probably 9 months. I pay for cable TV, Netflix, and Hulu and don't watch any of it. But, I keep it for my daughter and her family.

One of them has more movies and one of them has more TV shows. I think Netflix is more movie related and Hulu is has TV series, but I could be wrong tho.

Well if you can afford it, I would. I think it's probably somewhere around $12-$15 for a month for each one. I know one of them just raised, it was $11.99 I think

I will check them both out on the 3rd..

Thank you TJ..

Here the cheapest for cable is almost $85..a month..can you believe that..

I can't remember what Suddenlink had just for cable because I had both internet and cable..and it was $100 and something..

I pay $45 a month just for Internet..right now..

Internet here is over $90 and for $165 I get cable, phone, and Internet, so I went with that. Because I work from home I can only go with one provider who does not have a data usage cap, all the others charge you outrageous prices if you would go over your data

I love Netflix!

We don't have Hulu, never heard of it

Sam shouldn't the title of this thread read something like......'what are you watching on'.........., that way you would get more people talking about movies, rather than choosing which provider they like best.
Just an idea aha

LOL otherwise Crissi and I will have nowhere to discuss movies!

Now don't get that rolling pin out, it was just an observation.....I have to go to the supermarket now angry ........you can see what the mention of 'super market' does to me

Walking Dead is only available on Foxtel here......which is a lot more expensive per month, although I saw an ad where it is free for a month omg

We tried Netflix first along with something else, they were both $10 a month, so for awhile we had 2. I found I was watching more on Netflix, so we stayed with it.
I can't watch T.V., too many ads!

I did have a BBC app for awhile, that was the best, I am very addicted to English programmes. Unfortunately it's not available anymore crying

Oh good to know we can continue talking about our series here .. hellowave

Lorry I am not sure if you had read my post about the Serie "Offspring". I am saddened that we can't see it here - it sounds very interesting and reminds me a bit on Heart of Dixie. have you watched that Lorry?

Regarding Walking Dead - we can watch 7 seasons of it via Netflix. hellowave And all the new episodes are on FOX TV

And which german film did you watch Lorry?

How long does it take to get the cable movies onto to Netflix and Huhu..

I missed both of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead this year..so was wondering when they would be on either of the other to programs..

Crissi what is Offspring about..

At least in Germany we don't have Hulu, but a while ago I lent a DVD of the Hulu/UK co-production "Harlots" and just loved it!

hellowave  Crissi!

Yes we can continue on with our 'movie' chat here!

I  did see your post Crissi, and I did respond to you.....but everything was deleted.....I don't find it as funny as Sam did

Hubby, Sam and me all watched 'Heart of Dixie' and loved it!

As for 'Offspring',  I know you would love it, I do hope you get it, although with it being an Australian series, you more than likely wont.
We are patiently waiting to see is there will be a tenth series pull hair out

The German movie I watched was brilliant, even with sub titles.  I will need to see if I can find it on Netflix for the title.  It was a little scary, about twin boys living with their Mother.....I can't say anymore than that, because I don't want to spoil it in case you watch it!

Sam - Like Lorry told us - Offspring is an australian Serie .. and I can't watch it here .. but I would love to!!
Oh I am interested which german film that had been Lorry .. perhaps you can figure it out.
I've started with Greenleaf on Netflix a few days ago .. it seams to be interesting .. but can't say as much about it right now.

I haven't tried out Hulu recently. I did years ago and wasn't impressed but it has probably improved since them.

Currently on Netflix we are watching "The Crown." uhu

Sam - The Crown is a realistic dramatization of Queen Elizabeth's life...

...each season covers a decade and every two seasons they recast the actors... Ben loves it!

As for The Walking Dead on Netflix, season 8 will be up September 2017. Right now, the first 7 seasons are available on Netflix.

Fear of the Walking Dead (spinoff) is on Hulu - the first 2 seasons are available right now. Season 3 should be up soon.

In general - for things to show up on Netflix, it can be 8 days before an episode shows up to a year after the current season starts.

For Hulu - for all shows except CBS, they are uploaded 24 hours after airing (for the most part).

CW shows are not on Hulu - they are on Netflix 8 days after airing (or longer, depending on the show). For example, My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend will be up in February (the whole recent season) vs Supergirl which will not be up until the end of June (current season).

Some shows on Netflix do not have any episodes uploaded until the day the next season starts - and that entire past season is uploaded at once.

On Hulu, some shows keep an entire season available and just add episodes as they come; however, some shows only keep the 5 most recent episodes up.

You get used to it :D

~~~~~~~
Ben and I do not have cable. We pay for the fastest internet we can and we stream everything on TV/
Cable through apps.
We have an Amazon Fire TV Stick, a Roku Express, a PlayStation 4, a Wii U, and HDMI cables to connect our computers, if necessary.
We recently purchased Hulu with Live TV - it comes to about $43 with taxes and it is the commercial-free version, so the cost is a bit higher. However, we also have HBO Now, Showtime, Starzz (through Amazon Prime), Boomerang and CBS All Access. We also pay for YouTube Red. Of course, we also have Netflix and Ben and Travis use Crunchyroll and Funimation for Anime shows.  Whew!!!
Still, I'd be paying about the same price that I am right now for Cable AND NOT have everything we have access to.
Mainly, because Ben and Travis watch stuff that isn't available via Cable.
Basically, we are cord-cutters and we purchase what we want in an a-la-carte method.
It works for us; however, it may not work for others.
If we needed to cut some costs, we absolutely could - but, we would lose some things we really like.
The good news is that anyone can pick what works for them - just list out the pricing and compare with available cable packages.
You need excellent internet to cord-cut, though. :D
Thank you, Crissi, for my beautiful signature <3
I am ashamed to say, I watched the last season of the Crown ALL in one day!
It was like a good book, I couldn't put it down shame
And I have just finished watching the final season of The Fall with Jamie Dornan (50 Shades of Grey)
Crissi Sam found the movie for me!
Please forgive me, it's Austrian not German facepalm
And I couldn't find it on Netflix, but it could have been removed.
We also had another App called STAN, so perhaps it was on that
Well worth watching though, I really loved it!
