Back Hallway

First Floor Bathroom, I am Standing in the Shower taking the Picture :)

Bedroom (for Guests). Please excuse the mirror shadow (we all love ghost shadows, don't we)!

Second Floor Bathroom.  There is a door, and its to the left of the picture.

Master Bedroom.  I had to put in Shiplap.  I'm not sure if the rug really matches everything in the room, but I took a risk!

Another view of the Master Bedroom.

Master Bathroom.  Forgive the countertop color... these lights I tell you!

Another view of the Master Bathroom.  But that Tub though!

View from the Master Bedroom Balcony.  Anyone wanting a cup of coffee, breakfast, and a book?

Matt, I cannot tell you how happy it makes me to see your talent.
I am smiling form ear to ear.
I think your renovation of this house is awesome!!!
I never thought that that house can look so good, I often looked at it, wondering what could be done. You have a very good eye.

The interior is beautiful! And yes, I am on my way with my book, and a cup of coffee. The view form the balcony is great! I am so with you on the frustration with the shadows, and the lightning.
But I have seen when one used the spotlight that comes with Mangosims Leon set, the counters lits up better.
Your work is amazing.

And I like your sim too! please keep us updated about her life with her cat.

I like this renovation, Matt!

I like your style - and, that rug goes great in the master!

Your simmie and her kitty should love it there...

...I want to join her on that balcony and sip coffee and enjoy those views :D

~~~when I'm taking pictures and I notice something dark, if I hover the mouse over it, it can lighten it up - with those counters in particular, it seems to work <3
Thank you, Crissi, for my beautiful signature <3
Thank you Jordana and Broomhilda!
I have been updating CC for the past week and making sure they are in the correct categories in my game.  I hate when you can't find the fireplace tools, *OH wait, fireplace tools... they're with the fireplace!  What a great idea!*  In a sarcastic voice :>
it might not be tonight, but I'll update here shortly.  Everyone knows I love architecture and design, so I might post something a little more real.
Update time.  This post is a little more personable.  Some of you know that my main passion is Architecture/Design.  I've always wanted to be an Architect.  I was great at Math, up until I had to take Pre-Calculus.  I went from getting a A+ in Math to a C- to a D.
Anyhow, I've always dreamt of designing my own home, and NEVER thought it was actually possible.  It wasn't until I met my Partner that this dream was just that, a dream.  So with that, I present to you, my pride and joy, my creation, my very own home.
Please note:  The photos and floor plans within are strictly copyrighted and owned solely by me.
Please Enjoy!
Front
Almost to the end of Construction.
Landscaping in.
Backyard.  Landscaping in.
First Floor:  2,018 Square Feet
Finished Walkout Basement:  1,573 Square Feet.  The wine room does not exist as we took it out - ran out of money :(
Living Room.  The TV goes above the Fireplace.  Entry is to the right (the dark door with fogged glass).  Office is directly to the left of the front door.
Another view of the Living Room.  Master Bedroom is through the doorway to the right of the Fireplace and cabinets.
Kitchen and Dining Room
View of the Kitchen and Dining Room with Furniture.  Please forgive my Partner (he's filling out invitations for the Housewarming Party).  And Barney, my Yorkshire Terrier on the couch.
Another view of the Kitchen.
The Master Bedroom Ceiling Detail.
Master Bathroom.  Through the door is the Master Walk-in Closet.
Another view of the Master Bathroom
Master Bathroom Shower
This is the Barn Door that leads to the bedrooms in the basement.  There is also one at the bottom of the stairs.  Our front door also looks exactly like this.
This is the Bar in the basement.  It is also a full kitchen.
I hope you enjoyed your tour!
Matt your house is absolutely beautiful......LOL I thought it was going to be a Sim house! facepalm
The plan is fantastic, I love the deck especially. It looks like a place to sit back with a glass of wine and enjoy the view, along with good company .
My son and his wife bought a house last weekend through auction, and their deck is very similar to yours, only there is a sand pit under theirs giggle
Now you be sure and tell your partner not to forget out invites SummerB2
I will bring a pinkflowers for a house warming gift
What a beautiful house, and spacious!! It is the best experience in life to be able to fulfill one's dreams, and you and your partner, (please his name with us....) have done a great job!
I love the style of the house, and the open plan to the kitchen and living area.
Now we know the history behind your profile pic.
Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us.
I too thought at first that it would be a sims house, Lorry! giggle
But may be we can still send them some flowers.... sunflowers12
It's an absolutely amazing house. Just the bathroom makes me jealous think to have the size of it.
I would also like to build a house, but then it would be a real log house with a big fireplace.
Thank you Crissi for the beautiful signature
Tahoe, we came from a house with a small Master Bathroom, especially the shower, so I made sure the shower in my new home was big enough.   Now that I have a big shower, cleaning it SUCKS!
Sam, my Mother-in-Law already lives with us!  She lives in the two bedrooms in the basement, but we still have a guest room!
You are correct it is perfect, especially for its size.  I collect every floor plan imaginable, and I couldn't find one the size of our home with the room count and flow.  Over the years I have watched/analyzed how people move about their houses and the way we did things, and I designed from there.  Geoff once even said to me that he cut over 10 minutes off of how he got ready in the morning because everything was at hand instead of him having to run around for it.  When I did our kitchen cabinets I literally took the diagram, and wrote on it what was going to be placed into each drawer/cabinet.
There are however, things I would change, but it would require more square feet and more money.  For example, if you look at the first floor, there is always congestion at the doorway between the secondary bathroom and the kitchen (especially right at the refrigerator).  The only way to relieve this "congestion" would be to put a hallway where the pantry and stairs are, so that traffic would flow behind the kitchen and not through it.
But the house is perfect the way it is for the 3 of us.  After 3 years of living here, I can say that there have been NO wall or ceiling cracks due to settling or expanding between winter and summer months; its a solid house.
That is so cool..
I am also glad you were able to build it without the settling..that in itself is a great thing..because settling is a nightmare to fix and maintain..
I bet your mother in law is very happy there.. f
I was joking on moving in with you all number one..IT'S WAY TO COLD IN NEBRASKA giggle I struggle with the cold here in Missouri..specially with all the humidity here..in all seasons...I grew up in Elko, Nevada and love, love that dry heat and cold..and I do miss it..also lived in Arizona and I really miss it there as well..
I love the cold.  It gets rid of all the bugs!  Last winter it didn't get as cold so last summer we had a huge problem with Japanese Beetles; they ate most of our roses and other plants.
