TS4 Ocean View

CHICA!!!!!! OMG! I am IN LOVE with this one! I love those slanted windows and the porch/patio/entrance (don't know what to call it since it's not really a "porch" or at least I always think of a porch as being raised). It's so awesome, I wanna decorate it!

But, quick question ... if you're looking at the overview, where is the kitchen? I mean I know I can put it anywhere, but in your architects eye, where were you envisioning the kitchen when you designed this? This house is actually bigger than it looks. I LOVE IT!

The kitchen is the room right at the top of the floor plan, although you can place it wherever YOU would like it!
LOL In Australia we don't use the term 'porch'.........but I do know what area you are referring to!   Here it would be called a patio.......LOL that's your lesson on Australia for  today

Lorry, I love this house, love the layout and the windows and how spacious it is and of course the landscaping. This is definitely a house my sims would live in, when I get back to actually playing.

TJ, down here in the South, we call it a patio, or if you're feeling snooty, a Lanai,

Wow! I always thought lanai was a Hawaiian phrase too! And, here we have "porches" which are on the front, and "patios" which are in the back. Porches are generally raised and patios typically are not .... or at least here where I live they're like that. And, sometimes we have "stoops" which is basically just a little poured concrete area right in front of the front door (it can also be raised up), basically about the size of one tile in the Sims. They're kinda useless in my opinion, almost not even big enough to put a flippin welcome mat on! LOL

My Dad used to call our front porch a stoop...

I, however, love ALL outdoor spaces attached to houses/apartments/condos/duplexes/quadplexes, etc.!

The front of the house here used to be called a verandah....not sure that word is used much here anymore. Perhaps that's because you don't see too many houses that come with them nowadays, which is shame, because I love them.

I love verandahs, Lorry - and the word - I think it evokes pleasant thoughts of lazy, warm summer days and evenings sitting and enjoying great conversations :D

Ahhh yes, a veranda reminds me of houses in the South! I guess I could call mine a veranda too ... it's rather large, 8 foot by 20 foot with porch railings and roof, but I just call it a porch, some people call it a deck, but I always picture a deck as made out of wood with no roof over it.

I'd definitely call it a verandah, TJ :D
