Dockside Cottage Empty Dockside Cottage

Post by IvyRose Sat Aug 19, 2017 5:58 pm

This large family house was built to accommodate one of my Sim families The Owens. The family has featured on Bloom a number of times in various challenges on the forum and the house was really inspired when Lorry suggested we show our Sims in their beachwear. Once I started to decorate it though I decided that I would use it to celebrate and showcase the wonderful creations available on this site. We have some the most generous (willing to undertake requests) and talented creators in Sims. There are a few items of CC not from this site that I have included in the file and some things are EA items. Now I do have all EP's, SP's and GP's installed in my game and I am up to date with all updates, so bits and pieces could be from any of the packs. I did try to keep it base game but that was not always possible but you will definitely need Parenthood, Kids Stuff and Spa, I think I used some curtains from Movie stuff too.
Of course if you want to decorate the house yourself just download it from the Gallery unfurnished.

The house is over three floors, on the ground floor is an informal sitting room that opens onto a porch and faces the beach, there are also two bedrooms and a child's bathroom. The bedrooms are decorated for twin girls and a teen girl, the bathroom is designed with them in mind. As you leave the sitting room and go upstairs on to the first floor there is the master bedroom with a dressing room and ensuite bathroom, on this floor is also a cloakroom. The formal sitting room is here where the family like to retire in the evenings and for entertaining. Doors lead outside to a balcony with stairs leading down to the garden. There is a laundry room here as well currently for decorative use only but will be ideal when the new SP comes out. An Arch leads to the kitchen area that features a breakfast nook as well as a breakfast bar for informal dining but the highlight of this house must be the dining room that offers outstanding views of the ocean. Back out in the reception breathe staircase takes you to the second floor, this had been designed with the youngest members of the family in mind as the rooms are decorated for toddlers. At the top of the stairs is a comfy settee which offers a nice spot to relax and read, in addition to this is the third bathroom again decorated with children in mind.
This house is very much centred around the large family and is very child friendly, the pool in the garden is a paddling pool but could very easily be converted to a swimming pool if that is what you desire. A wonderful entertaining area with barbecue, bar and dining area as well as a play area for the children.

Wonderful build, Nikki!

(I had commented, I believe, but my post was eaten, lol)

I love your color choices and that you've used so much cc from our creators - this is a great family home and, as always, it is warm, inviting, and full of life!
